    Yeah, I can see that point...I don't use hidden posts much but I'm sure others do. My forum has a lot of "how to" tutorial for auto restoration and members used to referenced individual posts inside a whole thread. Maybe the Bookmarks Ap would be a good fit for my members? They would be able to bookmark the important posts for later use!

    That seems to work for permalinks but not a real good numeric reference to post sequential numbers. Granted, it may be something most forums don't need but coming from MyBB, my members are used to it and having a hard time adjusting to not having them.

    It seems like it would be a no brainer to number posts within a thread for easier reference but I don't see an numbers in IPS? As a matter of fact, how would you even permalink a post if you needed to? The only way I see possible is by using the Share>Email link as a permalink but that takes a few steps to access...

    I got it...just wish there was a core feature for that exact same thing. I try to keep my forum running with as little3rd party plugins as possible to make it easier to upgrade but it is getting harder and harder because there are so many cool plugins and apps that I want to run!

    I know, but I don't have IP.Pages and really don't have a need for it right now, but I could really use the random widget block!

    Why isn't there a custom widget block for adding random things to your sidebar like HTML and text? I was able to add a plugin to do it but I really think this should be a core feature. I don't have Pages so I am not able to use page builder widgets either.

    It would be great if when you click on an ajax notification popup at the bottom of the screen, it should clear out the notification in your notification list as well! Not a huge issue but it's all in the little details! 🙂

    I don't think we need anything like 'Stories" in IPB, I still can't figure out what the Status Updates age good for! My members seem to get confused and try to post regular posts in the status updates, they treat Blogs as regular posts instead of creating blog type posts...I'm sure stories would just be misused as well! As a matter of fact, I wish there was a way to convert status updates and blog posts into regular threads, but that is a different topic! I strongly believe that forums need to COMPETE with social media but NOT BECOME social media!

    The one show above is 15 years old with almost 24K members. My new forum domain is 10 years old but 10 years was on MyBB.

    Not sure...it works on my other forum but not for the new Mustang forum. I don't know if it is something I did or if Google just did it? I used to run Google site search but I don't use it anymore on that site??

    Thanks for the detailed reply! So my best course of action (other than hiring a pro) would be to sit back and let the forum do the work! In addition, I am hitting social media and dropping links to try to drive more hits my way...I just wonder what it takes to get a nice Google listing like my other forum...I didn't do anything different but the Google hit is nice!

    It seems like my Google rankings have tanked since I moved from MyBB! What can I do to improve SEO rankings? I have already defined all the meta tag key words and descriptions, and linked Google Analytics, but I need more! Is there any cons to running behind a permanent 301 redirect? my forum moved from root to /forums/ directory so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it? Looking for some good ideas that work quick and clean! Thanks!

    Yes. I think I got it working...the widget was missing from where I thought it was. Is the widget the only place the popular now topics appear? No icon designation or highlight like a popular post gets?

    Are there other settings that control the Popular Now threads? I have mine set up for 5 posts in 60 minutes but I have threads with 10 posts in 30 minutes and no popular now designation! What could I be missing?

    I applied the patch but I still cannot login...not sure if my FB account is already tagged or what. If someone has a few minutes and could try to register with FB on my site to see if it is working, I would appreciate it! www.7173mustangs.com I'll delete new account as soon as we're done...

    I've been testing out the 4.5 Marketplace on my test board and a couple small ideas for improvement came to mind... 1. Add a filter to show all FREE items. 2. Mark or identify items that the user has already INSTALLED in the Marketplace! Thanks for looking!

    It only seems to be this one user complaining about this issue...I don't think it as anything to do with he forum at this point. I do have him doing some testing to see what is going on. He might even be trying to access the forums on a private browser at work when this happens. Thanks for the feedback...definitely gives me some factors to check in order to help this user out!

    Is there any way to set a theme per individual member? I have a member complaining that his theme choice keeps resetting back to the forum default every time he logs out. Or is there a way to prevent this from happening?

    Is there any way we could get a new setting in Announcements that would let you select to open a URL link in a new tab or the same tab? I link to a lot of internal pages in my announcements and it is kind of silly to have them open new tabs every time! Also, some formatting for titles and title only would be great! Just some ideas...Thanks!

    Yes, that is what is weird though...my light and dark theme are both default however, I created the dark theme around beta 8 so it is probably different than the beta 1 light theme. Thanks for the help @Davyc

    That worked! Wonder what changed? My default light theme works fine with the larger logo??
