Miss_B got a reaction from LiveG in Site is down after php upgradeThat error that you posted above could be due to the fact that you overwrote your forum files with those from the latest version, but didn't run the upgrade. Hopefully upgrading the forum will fix the issue.
Let us know how it will go.

Miss_B got a reaction from Cedric V in Submit Your Questions for Our Exclusive Interview with CharlesW from Invision Community! My question is "Why did you remove the Marketplace" 😄 (joke)
Sorry if the joke sounded lame, but I couldn't resist it.
My questions are as follow:
What does a typical work day looks like for Charles and what do you do for fun/relaxation when you are outside the office? What do you find most challenging about your position/role?
I am looking forward to the interview. I am sure it will make for an interesting reading.

Miss_B reacted to Cedric V in Submit Your Questions for Our Exclusive Interview with CharlesW from Invision Community!Greeting everyone,
I'm thrilled to announce that I have secured an opportunity to interview none other than Charles from Invision Community. This is a rare and exciting occasion, and I believe that involving you as our community members can make this experience even more enriching! In recent happenings, I can imagine some of you might have some questions you'd like to see included in this interview.
As I always say, a community is the backbone of any platform. So, I thought: Why not let YOU have a say in the interview? I'm offering all of you a chance to send in your questions, and I'll do our best to include as many as I can in our conversation with Charles.
How to Submit Your Questions:
Reply to this topic with your question for Charles. You may PM me your question if you wish to send it anonymously. Please keep your questions respectful, relevant, and constructive. If you see a question from another member that resonates with you, give it a "like". This will help us gauge the most popular and sought-after questions. You can submit multiple questions, but please post each question separately to make it easier to tally and sort.
Deadline:
The last date for submitting your questions is September 1st. I'll compile them shortly afterward and then proceed with our interview.
A Few Guidelines:
Avoid asking questions that have been answered multiple times in previous communications or on the official FAQ. While I appreciate all the input, I may not be able to include every question in the interview due to time constraints. This is a golden chance to get insights, clarifications, or just to know more about the visions and aspirations of Invision Community from one of its key figures. So, let your curiosity run wild and be a part of this unique opportunity! Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with. 😄 I'm very grateful for this opportunity and hope to receive many questions and interest for this interview.
Best regards,
Cedric (Admin Junkies)

Miss_B reacted to Marc in Site is down after php upgradeWhile I empathise with the situation you are currently in, having 50 3rd party items is probably what is causing you issues in the first place. Its not really possible for us to debug your system for 3rd party item issues.
The issue with the files showing out of date, is likely just that. The files are out of date. You can upload a fresh set from your client area. If this is the latest release, then you would need to run the upgrade afterwards. I realise that puts you in a bit of a circular situation, however, that would go back to the original point. You need to ensure each of your applications are compatible with PHP 8, or things will indeed fail.
It's worth pointing out here, this is a very good reason why you should really add 3rd party items sparingly, and if you are going to use them, you should ensure they are kept up to date in line with keeping your IPS applications up to date. The issue you have here is its been left so long you have no option but to jump both major versions and a PHP version and update 3rd party items at once. This is always going to leave you in a bit of a precarious position, unfortunately.

Miss_B got a reaction from LiveG in Site is down after php upgradeIf you click the Modified files warning message, what do you get?
A word of advice, if I may, it would be best to upgrade your forum to the latest version.

Miss_B got a reaction from LiveG in Site is down after php upgradeLet's do some detective work 😄
Can you post here a list of all the custom apps/plugins that you have installed and maybe we will find the culprit.
If you are going to remove the apps, don't forget to make a backup of their database tables if you want to keep their data after reinstalling them.
-
Miss_B reacted to Marc in Site is down after php upgradeDisabling will not be enough for some if they are incompatible with PHP 8. If they are incompatible entirely, you would need to upgrade those prior, or remove them prior. I would advise on checking this first of all

Miss_B got a reaction from LiveG in Site is down after php upgradeThe issue is that one of your custom apps is not compatible with php 8 and/or the latest version of Ipb. Looking at the error message, it affects the topics.

Miss_B reacted to Rich N in Moved siteI just changed the primary domain on the server, did not move anything.
thanks, looking at support page everything was ok... cleared system Cache.. that fixed it..
-
Miss_B got a reaction from Rich N in Moved siteDid you do the domain switch only, or did you have to upload your forum files to another folder as well? Was the move within the same host/server? Can you please post here a step by step what you did?
If you can access your Admin Panel, can you go to the Support tab and see if there are things flagged in there that will need fixing?

Miss_B reacted to PPlanet in Forum member changed email address and now stuck status unable to log in?Thanks @Jim M and @DawPi.
Yes, changing the value of the members_bitoptions column seems to work.
I changed it from 1342242816 to 268500992 (which is the value almost everyone else had there) and that seems to work.

Miss_B reacted to Jim M in site stuck when running upgradeOur software will work on any servers which meet the minimum requirements. The path provided in this topic is merely an example path because that's what the client provided. You will have your own path which needs to be corrected in your PHP settings.

Miss_B got a reaction from Marc in CPAdmin SQL managementYou could share the host log in details amongst yourselves (admins) to avoid situations like this. Or you could look into hosting your forum with Invision and you will not have to worry about stuff like this anymore.
