Thanks, I've seen this plugin before, but I don't like the way it looks. Especially now with the "Author" badge that does work.

I wouldn't want to bother you, but I won't lie, that could be awesome 😄 
If you could make a plugin or something that just adds a "show badge" toggle for the mods/admins in the moderators ACP section (I guess it's makes the most sense under the "General" tab), or if you want to go even further, in each user group (I think it's not needed, it could make it have wider appeal), that'd be awesome. I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for something like that.  

Thanks a lot for the help. I re-read the blog post about the feature and I can now see the badge and highlight really are connected. Since I have zero coding knowledge, I don't want to get into trying (and probably failing) to edit the CSS, so I'll just ask my mods whether they want both or none.

@Davyc I don't think the things you pointed too are what I'm looking for, The group icon was present before the update, and the ranks are a different thing entirely, they are based on content count. 

@Runar Those also aren't highlighted posts. Matt's post is highlighted, yes, but that's not what I'm looking for, unless someone can confirm we can only get the badges on highlighted posts, which is pretty limiting. I don't want mod posts to be highlighted, it's too much of an attention grabber. I just want the badge (similar to the the "Author" badge on the first screenshot in the first post). If there is no way to make it happen it'll be pretty sucky.

I have, but as I said, I deleted it and made a new one without any major edits.

Nope, Stock theme, only edited through the back-end editor (fonts/colors and such). no css edits and no custom theme installed. 
And the tags don't appear. I did edit a random member for something else (made his name inherit the group color using a plugin) and it made the tag appear. I DID NOT enable anything related or resembling a "enable tags" or anything. Weird...

One of the nicer things I wanted to implement in our community are the badges the appear at the top of posts made by "noteworthy" individuals, like management team members, topic authors and members of distinct user groups (like in the screenshots):

But for some reason (we all know "I'm dumb" is a possible reason. I'm just saying what everyone is thinking) I can't find where to enable this feature. 
Anyone can point me in there right direction?

Is it possible to "extract" the edit and report buttons from their new house under the three dot menu? I understand the want and need to declutter, but I personally and much of our users edit our posts quite a lot, and we also want our users to have as little work as possible needed in order to report a post.

So I'm trying to make a dark theme for our site, and while editing the colors using the "easy mode" color picker (Which is absolutely AWESOME!!) I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what controlled the color of the notification settings expanded background (Marked red in the screenshot):

Does anyone know how to (or if at all possible) change that color? I would much rather do that without editing the css, since moving to 4.5 really F'ed things up in our edited theme and we had to make a new one from pretty much scratch.

Something got screwed for us too in exactly the same manner. I just re-did our themes and in fixed it. probably something to with the css.
If you can, and if you're using the default theme (had a look through your site, it looks like you are) just make a new theme and replicate your colors by opening the seting for both in two chrome windows side by side like in the attached screenshot:

Something weird just started happening, and I'm not sure whether it's to do with the new chrome version not playing nicely with ckeditor or what. 
we have the "Enter key behavior" set up the other way around than the IC forums, so that Enter goes down a line and NOT starts a new paragraph (also tested with the "start new paragraph" behavior set).

When replying to a post on mobile, if you hit enter to go down a line or hit backspace to remove an empty line, it instead hides the entire keyboard and you have to tap the text box again in order to resume typing. It was tested on multiple devices and with different keyboards installed, and also in other text boxes on different sites, it only happened in our forum.

Any advice on what to look into? An idea of how to solve/bypass the issue? Is the issue present on 4.5?

Let's say the post is not deleted (it can't be, our mods can only hide posts), how would one go about having the post appear in the warning? And please, talk to me like I'm a 2 year old monkey, and a pretty dumb one at that 🙂

I'm hopeless when it comes to that kind of thing. I literally need this to be hand fed to me. 

I've read this before, but it looks like this works pretty much exactly the other around from what I need 😄 
Here you get: first week (for example) is free, then you pay (and you keep privileges).
What I need is: First week you pay, then it's "free" (and you lose privileges).

What we need is a "non-renewing one-time pay platinum pass" that's good for a set amount of days/weeks/months/solar cycles.

I've found a few topics regarding this issue, but they were all either old or not exactly relevant...

In addition to our community, we have a "media" website (basically a magazine) that has all sorts of articles in it. Since it's the same domain, When we open a thread and link to that article, it opens in the same tab. That in itself isn't an issue. The issue is that there is no way to customize this behavior. I would prefer these links (And other ones as well, actually all of them) open in new tabs. Is there any way to do this now? or a plugin that does that? 

*I'm looking to basically just have a site-wide toggle or drop down like the "open in new window" for the "external link" option in the menu manager, but for all links and just ones that go to external sites.

If the post is in fact deleted, then you would need to retrieve the value at the time the warning is issued and store the body with the note for the member. That would require a plugin.

Hey, I've actually also been looking into that. It's kinda weird a member doesn't get to see the post they were warned about (if it's been hidden). I tried what you suggested, or at least I think I did, I just pasted "$warning->content()->mapped('body')" into the "Default note for member" part in the relevant warning. I was not surprised when I was it just added that exact text ($warning->content()->mapped('body')) into the note that the member received 😂

Hey all, 
I just popped my IPS ban-cherry and banned our first user after migrating from VB. 
Back in VB, when someone was banned, they were automatically moved to a seperate user group which had special group formatting and a custom title. 
Now, it didn't happen. I tried poking around in the group promotion section but couldn't find anything that referred to banning. Can anyone point me in the right direction (could also be a plugin that does that).

We don't, we have no intention of going international, but I see your point, it's definitely a good one against using cookies if it's for that purpose only. But doesn't IPS or Captcha or some of the other third party add-ons already use cookies? sounds weird that they wouldn't, but then again, I wouldn't know..

Guess they'll have to think of a cleavererer way to implement such a tool.
