I wonder this too, my core business is actually education and we would love to be able to use it. And cloud is not an option for us. 😉

Same here! Self-hosted clients are being IGNORED and put aside again. And there is no excuse now; we don't need any special server to run the courses. It's just a premeditated decision to brush aside self-hosted clients.
I've been waiting for a long time for a course/LMS in IPS. @Adriano Faria was creating one, but there is no news from him. And now that IPS has released it, I can't use it because I'm not a client using its expensive cloud version.

SjorsK got a reaction from Matt in Hump Day: show off your community's theme
This will be a website with community aspects for enabling the development of personal talents (side project, volunteer, not for profit).Â
Kinda happy how it's turning out with relatively minimal effort. There are some minor theme tweaks 😉
Here is the for profit community I have developed:
Lowepost, creative learning platform (Which basically pushes the limits of the IPS suite kinda everywhere)
(n.b. I need to put some effort into making the forum prettier once again 😉 ).Â

Sorry, there is no exact timeframe at this time. As mentioned in Matt's post, we are testing the fix, releasing it in a beta, etc... Unfortunately, there is not a release this month so more than likely it will be in next month's release, pending our development cycle.

SjorsK got a reaction from FZ in Getting Close To The End now
To summarise, less services for higher fees. It's that our community is heavily build on IPS but I would think twice about using IPS for any new project now. Especially the lack of support is clearly a lack of confidence from the company.Â
That said, I have nothing against community support - It's great to steer people there. But IPS has (in recent years) always steered people towards ticket support.Â
This is also not the only recent price increase (IPS cancelled legacy bundles and increased prices for those). It's clear to say that I'm not happy about this. Â

SjorsK got a reaction from Dexter_X in [Commerce]Fee for payment options
Hi!Â
I would like to see an option to charge money for using a partular payment method. The reason that some payment methods tend to get more expensive over time (Paypal does that quite a bit and demands a higher cut with regular intervals).
Some insight into our payment flow with clients:
- Client places purchase (Around a 3% fee) - This fee depends on the country and is an approximation.Â
- We withdraw money in USD (3% fee. As that is not the home country, but we use it for payments to international partners)
Effectively making out transfer costs around 6% and I'm not willingly to eat a fee larger than 3.5% for payment processing without calculating this directly to the client. That said, I want to give our clients also the option to not be charged the additional fee if they choose an alternative payment method.Â
As of such it would be nice to have the ability to add a fee for usage for a specific payment option. 🙂
