    The problem here seems to be user using a 4.3 plugin version on 4.5 board. I don’t see where this can be dev’s fault.

    He probably updated from 4.3 to 4.5 and broke it. But the upgrade to 4.5 should disable 3rd-party resources so I’m not sure that’s the case.

    Yeah, if there was an update to something and it broke and no indication that it was broken during the upgrade, I don't know what I'm expected to do. I'm not a developer and when the issue remains after disabling all plugins and applications, it seems like something more is involved than third-party, no?

    Maybe what they mean with that is before you try to contact them disable or update your third-parties apps, plugins, hooks, etc. and see if you can reproduce the problem, sometimes might be the cache that is causing the problem. As a developer it is frustrating to find a problem being caused by a third-party library that was not updated.

    I cannot say about "scolding" but this is what I would interpret it, I have no idea about what was discussed privately so I cannot say more. I didn't have this kind of problem with the support.

    I always disable and update before asking for support. I always expect that this will be their first assumption. I always tell them I did so, but I often get a canned response that asks me to do exactly what I already explained I did. Often the issue remains even after everything is disabled. We continue troubleshooting and find the issue. Support is fantastic!

    But... there is ALWAYS a comment of discouragement and scolding for using third-party resources, so that's what this post is asking: 1. I wonder if others are as discouraged from using them as I have experienced, and 2. if we are going to be discouraged from using third-party tools, it seems like a good idea to stop buying them and using them.

    I am always up to date based on what information is available to me, and I always reach out to the developers for support if it's related to their application and everyone responds with amazing support. Many of the plugins, themes, and applications are just incredibly useful things that make our communities so much better. I really don't like that I may have to remove all of them.

  3. To be fair, I am not talking about the current ticket. We were still troubleshooting. I was talking about a general tone and discouragement from using third-party resources. My main question is: should we consider disabling and removing all of them to avoid issues?

    I'm working on the ticket right now, but to be fair, according to your system log it's def. a 3rd party issue:

    ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function IPS\core\modules\front\system\_register::_createMember(), 2 passed in /var/www/html/105119/init.php(893) : eval()'d code on line 26 and exactly 4 expected (0)
    #0 /var/www/html/105119/init.php(893) : eval()'d code(26): IPS\core\modules\front\system\_register::_createMember(Array, Array)
    #1 /var/www/html/105119/init.php(893) : eval()'d code(90): IPS\core\modules\front\system\hook1905::_createMember(Array, Array, NULL, Object(IPS\Helpers\Form))
    #2 /var/www/html/105119/init.php(893) : eval()'d code(15): IPS\core\modules\front\system\hook2764::_createMember(Array, Array, NULL, Object(IPS\Helpers\Form))
    #3 /var/www/html/105119/applications/core/modules/front/system/register.php(240): IPS\core\modules\front\system\hook2898::_createMember(Array, Array, NULL, Object(IPS\Helpers\Form))
    #4 /var/www/html/105119/applications/core/modules/front/system/register.php(174): IPS\core\modules\front\system\_register->_registrationForm(NULL)
    #5 /var/www/html/105119/system/Helpers/Wizard/Wizard.php(181): IPS\core\modules\front\system\_register->IPS\core\modules\front\system\{closure}(Array)
    #6 /var/www/html/105119/applications/core/modules/front/system/register.php(181): IPS\Helpers\_Wizard->__toString()
    #7 /var/www/html/105119/init.php(893) : eval()'d code(27): IPS\core\modules\front\system\_register->manage()
    #8 /var/www/html/105119/system/Dispatcher/Controller.php(101): IPS\core\modules\front\system\nexus_hook_register->manage()
    #9 /var/www/html/105119/system/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.php(152): IPS\Dispatcher\_Controller->execute()
    #10 /var/www/html/105119/index.php(13): IPS\_Dispatcher->run()
    #11 {main}

    This error means literally that a plugin or application hooking the register::_createMember method is failing because it isn't compatible with IPS 4.5

    Not to bring discussion of this ticket to this thread, but since it's here... why does the issue remain even with all plugins/applications disabled?

  4. I love Invision and their support is top-notch and I have been with them for years, but almost every time there is an issue, I am scolded and sometimes shamed for using plugins, applications, and themes. Almost always. There is rarely a reply of support that doesn't include a comment that is basically, "well, what did you expect since you are using plugins, applications, themes?" And often the support takes longer because the issue is immediately dismissed as a third-party issue. The irony is that in almost every case, it turns out it was not an issue with an application, plugin, or theme. I totally get that we have to troubleshoot and that it is practical to start with the assumption that it might be a third-party issue, but why are we even using these third-party resources if we are just going to be scolded for using them? I've asked the team the same question and they assure me that they are not scolding me, lol, but blaming third-parties over and over and telling me that I wouldn't have issues if I didn't use them, etc. just makes me wonder why we even have them. I am on the brink of disabling all themes and third party resources.

    It's been uploaded to the marketplace and is currently pending approval.

    I was JUST coming to check on this. Because it is out of date, it is blocking all new registrations for some reason, causing EXO errors. Thank you for your hard work!

    The result is viewable when you press CTRL+P... In print preview you should be able to see a "clean" output....

    If not , use F12 developer browser tools to find out what you need to adjust in custom css.

    Oh shoot, I see now. Thanks!

    Do you know of any other options that can be added for more intuitive use, like with a button and in-browser view? Thanks!

    Thank

    Thanks!!!!

    In my case , everything id nicely printed to PDF by using the following:

    @media print {
      .ipsBreadcrumb.ipsBreadcrumb_top,
      .ipsBox_alt.ipsPhotoPanel,
      html[dir="ltr"] .ipsFollow,
      .ipsList_inline, .ipsList_reset,
      .ipsBreadcrumb.ipsBreadcrumb_bottom,
      .ipsGrid.ipsGrid_collapsePhone.ipsPager.ipsClearfix.ipsSpacer_top,
      .ipsItemControls,
      .ipsType_reset.ipsType_medium.ipsType_light,
      hr.ipsHr,
      .ipsTabs_panels.ipsTabs_contained,
      .ipsTabs,
      #ipsLayout_footer,
      #elCopyright,
      header { display:none;}

      .ipsBox { border: none; }

      .ipsLayout_container { padding : 0; }
    }

    I added all of this in Custom but it did not show up anywhere. Any suggestions for what I may have done wrong?

    From the newsletters screen, click the "Manage Content" button from the menu on the right. There should be an option at the top to Publish. Keep in mind that this will distribute the newsletter to all subscribers.

    I got this error when I tried to publish:

    Quote

    A configuration or server error has occurred

    1ANNC/4 This newsletter has a distribution in progress and cannot be published at this time.

    But since it has not been distributed since December of 2019, I'm not sure what this means.

    Is there anything in your system logs? Have you tried manually publishing the newsletter to see if any errors come up?

    There are no errors logged. How do I manually publish?

    I just noticed this! This is in the Newsletter interface... would this be an invision issue or a newsletter setting issue?

    It's been confirmed that it is not an invision issue. Is there any way we can troubleshoot this? Thanks!

    Well, I have the newsletter set up for daily digests and that is what people are reporting no longer comes to them. I'm not sure if it is IPS or the Application. I did get a report that someone suddenly started receiving them again, so I don't know what the issue is.

    Are you sure this is with regard to this application? Daily digests are part of IPS and the notification settings are related to that. If you have a newsletter configured to send out daily, that would be this application. Please confirm.

  13. DAILY DIGESTS NOT SENT FOR MONTHS

    I had not taken seriously a few reports in my community about not receiving a daily digest and advised them on how to ensure their settings were correct, but now it is months later and I have a huge stack of support tickets reporting that daily digests are not being received. It has been going on for months, apparently.

    I don't know if this is an issue with this application or something wrong with Invision platform, but I thought I would ask here, first.

    What can I do to help troubleshoot this? Thanks!

    (note: application is up to date)

    I have one other report of that, but I have no leads yet as to why this is happening. Are you hosted by IPS? What email provider are you using? It would help me to try to find a common thread.

    I will pm you a screenshot!

  15. I don't see any other reports for this, but my members are getting multiple copies of the newsletter every day. Like up to 20 or 30 copies. Is this something I can fix? Thanks! -troy

    Hi,

    What are these Images and Banners are you talking about? are they from a plugin/application or where do they come from?

    Please do 🙂

    It seems to be only the profile banners. I'm not sure if other images disappear. They don't really disappear entirely. The banner flickers and then disappears. I'll DM you! I bet it has nothing to do with your theme, but I'm going by Invision's assessment at the moment.

    The theme is %100 fully functional with IPS 4.4.3

    But you might have edited theme templates which in this case the theme might be outdated for you only and you would need to either revert your changes OR reinstall the theme.

    -

    Also, have you tested if everything works correctly in default IPS theme?

    and have you tested if a plugin/application causes the error?

    I have a completely fresh update from the most-recent files. And yeah, the default theme does not have this issue. By the way, I wasn't meaning that your template is the issue. I only meant that Invision keeps pointing to 3rd Party for the problems, but they never used to do that. They seem to really dislike all of the 3rd Party plugins/themes/applications and seem to scold me for using them. Here is their latest reply regarding my theme:

    Quote

    Hello,  This was a bug in this case, which was fixed in a recent patch, your custom theme isn't up to date for 4.4.3 though, so it still shows this issue, if you use the default theme you can see it's working fine though.

    So updating the custom theme would be the solution, thank you

  18. Hi Taman!!

    I've come across a problem where the banners and images on my site keep disappearing. I can't figure out what the problem is and Invision says it is a 3rd Party problem. I have to troubleshoot every plugin and application, including my theme maker. Would you take a look and let me know if this is theme-related? If you need login information, I can DM you.

    Thanks!
