  1. @bfarber Thank you. Regarding #2 I think you meant to say "Yes, it will track them even if they don't sign up right away". Is that correct?
  2. After using this for a while and seeing the same header with various parts shown and hidden in different parts of the website, I feel less strongly about this than I did when I originally wrote this.
  3. Common knowledge is "pay for Google ads and make money" and it's totally wrong. Mailing lists and affiliate systems are probably 10000% more powerful than shouting into the wind on Twitter. Keep this in mind and maybe attend some startup events, get advice starting from this mindset, and find out how things are really done. That information would be extremely useful.
  4. I am working on integrating KeyCDN instead of CloudFlare. It's a Swiss company, the basic plan if free, and the pricing for the paid plans is extremely low. Looks like there is some kind of integration with IPB here: https://www.keycdn.com/support/ips-cdn-integration
  5. We're getting ready for a big product launch and I do have partners willing to give the referrals system a try. When I view the referrals page in my account, does a "referral" include people who created an account but have not bought anything yet? How exactly are referrals tracked? If a new user clicks a referral link and visits the site for the first time, leaves, and comes back later without the referral link, does a cookie remember them and count their account as a referral when do finally finally create an account? Or must they sign up right away? Will ad blockers or privacy-enhanced browsers like Brave bypass this system? I am not expecting 100% tracking accuracy, but I want to have an answer when this question comes up. IPB is installed in a subfolder of my main website. Is there a way to enable referral tracking on the main website, maybe by embedding a small iFrame in the footer that loads an IP.Content page and passes the referral ID to that, when it is present in the URL?
  6. This is why I keep saying big tech is ****ing us all and we need to collectively do everything we can to work around it. That's why I am trying to expunge Amazon, Facebook, and Google from our system.
  7. Customer acquisition in 2021 now that the value of everything has been driven to zero.
  8. In the very long term I would like to build something like this into our client application and have it send achievement completion messages to IPB via the REST API, but that is a long way off.
  9. I created a bucket with Backblaze and it has all the same settings as an S3 bucket, but I don't think IPB supports this yet. It looks like this would reduce our file storage cost to about 25% what it is now. How does one do this? As a medium / small tech company, IPS should really be doing everything they can to help build an ecosystem outside of the FANGS.
  10. This is a bigger topic than I thought...
  11. Thank you, that looks very interesting. I will try implementing this.
  12. I like the way S3 operates and how it gives us separation between website files and user uploads, and makes our website backups much smaller, but I would like to get away from Amazon. https://www.coralnodes.com/amazon-s3-alternatives/
  13. Your support staff thought it was a good idea to upgrade our site to the latest without permission and ed our site up.
  14. I added a user blog to "Our Picks" and the user deleted it. It still shows up in "Our Picks" but when you click on it it goes to a "page not found" error. How do I remove this item?
  15. It's only a matter of time before Silicon Valley realizes they can simply shut down all Internet commerce that isn't through Amazon, Google, Apple, or Facebook, and force all online sales to go straight into their own pocketbooks. It would be foolish not to have a payment processor in place based outside the U.S. in preparation for this possibility, maybe in Asia somewhere.
  16. I see, it only shows the copy-able link if you are sharing a comment. It would be nice if all content would display the raw link. I think most people would rather just copy and paste that rather than go through the "Share to Facebook" interface. For example, if I paste the link directly in Facebook, a preview image correctly appears, but if I go through the "share to Facebook" interface it does not display a preview correctly.
  17. Is that interface new? I don't have the link URL shown in my forum, just the social icons.
  18. I'd like to have support for a non-American payment processor.
  19. I WRITE PRETTY MUCH ALL DAY, EVERY DAY YOU NEED GRAMMARLY 😜
  20. Wow awesome and cool, thank you. 😜
  21. Nobody is going to post a link to our main forum page and get people to buy something that way. Instead they will post links to various content on our site like blogs or gallery images, people will go to see the content, and some of them will eventually buy a product from us. The referral ID should work with links throughout the community like this: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/health-dashboard-r1216/?_rid=1, not just the main page. This should be built into the share system so when people share a page on Twitter or whatever, the referral ID is tagged onto the URL automatically. You have all the pieces right there to create a system where users are incentivized to share content and bring in new revenue. I have no idea why no one has connected the last bit of functionality needed to make that funnel start working.
  22. Found it: https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/credit/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/purchases/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/orders/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/addresses/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/info/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/cards/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/alternative-contacts/ https://www.xxxxxx.com/clients/referrals/
  23. PayPal Pro has their credit card token feature that allows us to charge for subscriptions without the liability of storing CC info on our server. This is nice. Does the 2checkout implemention in IPB have such functionality?
