What formats would you like them archived as? I think that only XML or HTML is possible at this stage. It's slightly more involved now that they are conversations, though.

Could you also make it so you download them directly rather than having it send you an email? The whole sending an email with an attachment thing always seemed like a stupid waste of time to me...

XML and HTML would rock. TXT also? Each conversation could be separated by a noticeable header that would say who all was in the conversation and the title of it. Then only need to have date/time and who for each actual post. (At least I think that would make it simple to read through).

But definitely XML and HTML.

I say add another 6 or 7 confirmation screens just to make sure that it's me actually wanting to delete the thread and not just my OCD making me want to click things.

Getting a few ticket requests is hardly a majority. A majority is what's more like everyone on a forum who is not an admin hating this new format. Is this designed for forum users or admins?

Personally I think this new way is how it should have always worked, I don't think the old way was really confusing, but the new way is definitely more logical.

And I do think that 3 tickets a week complaining about something really does indicate that that's the majority's opinion.

This three man majority has unfortunately caused many (most) users on our forum to greet IP3 with a grunt. What a waste of an otherwise good version, to be overshadowed by this.

To say that because of one feature being changed is really overreacting if you ask me.

But I will submit my ticket asking for all of the features in View New Posts to be returned.

A ticket isn't going to nor is it meant to make them change it back, it will let them help you to change it back on your forum, but it's not going to make them change it back in a future version.

I noticed this a long time ago, just never said anything about it. And I think everything down there is cluttered, not just that one corner, but that whole area down there.

It's a cluttered mess, someone needs to force Rikki to make it less cluttered. :P

Because IPS offers hosting, and unless they pay for copyright removal all of their forum's pages will have a link to a competitor's site.

No actually I believe Zetaboards is completely different software that InvisionFree had released after hearing IPB would go paid.

It is a different software from IPB, I believe it was made mainly to replace Invision Free since IPB 1.3 (what Invision Free uses) is pretty old at this point. And since it was made by the Invision Free people it has a lot of similarities with IPB.

The new ACP in the new 4.0 is very very similar in feel to the way IPB's ACP has felt and worked since 2.2 (tabbed menu). I'd have though that maybe they would go with a drop-down menu system or similar? Oh well. I guess whatever works best.

Wha? They've shown pics of the ACP? They had said before that the ACP would be staying the same for the initial release of 4.0...

What I want to see in 3.1.

• Thread Tagging
• Option for users to ignore/hide threads based on tags.
• Option to make it so that when moderators ban a user the user's group is changed to the banned group. it is so annoying having to log into the admin CP and change a member's group manually. And it makes it extremely hard to make a system where banned members can view an appeal forum, because if they're banned by a moderator then there's no way to give them access to an appeals forum until the admin changes their group.
• No more hard coded special permissions for super moderators. I don't want my mods (or admins for that matter) mass deleting posts, but if I have super mods they're automatically allowed to mass delete and there's no way to set it so they can't. This seems so stupid when you realize that you have pretty much complete control over admin permissions yet all these super mod permissions can't be changed at all...
  

Best left as a mod in my opinion, I don't think many people need or want different icons for each forum.

What do you mean by "BBCODE Link"? You mean the BBCode Quick Access?

If they add CCS to the suite I'm sure they'll increase the price of the suite, and I'm sure that if you purchased the suite before they added CCS to it you'll have to purchase CCS separately.

Really, I don't see much point to this request for those reasons, and they haven't even announced how much CCS will cost yet you know...

I said something along the lines of "our intentions at this point in time is to have final out before the end of June". That was back in April or so, I think. People, as they have a habit of doing, took that as "it will be here before June", naturally. Or as some sort of promise, which it clearly wasn't.

You actually said you were trying to get final out by june, and people took that to mean by the end of June. :P

You know... we put a build new build on here a few days ago (you probably noticed the new expand/collapse) buttons, but because we kept "RC2" in the footer - nobody cared.

Now we update it today, and put it as "3.0.0" - you all go nuts :P

Should have changed it to say Powered By IP.Board 19.9.9 :P

a political forum should be free of IP tracking for the security of everyone !!!

Only mods and admins can see IPs, if you don't trust your staff with seeing your members' IPs then they shouldn't be staff in the first place. And IPs are logged for a reason, that reason is security, if you take away IP logging you'll just have even more security issues to worry about.

Last time I checked people are allowed to post their opinions on suggestions and feedback posted here. And apparently you don't understand that if IPS added an option for every little thing that only you and a few other people want or need it would make the software into a bloated and cluttered mess.

You mean make it so IPs aren't logged? Why would you even want to do that? I mean if you do that then you won't know anyone's IP if you need it.

• What if someone keeps coming back to troll? You couldn't ban their IP.
• What if someone posts something illegal? You wouldn't be able to report their IP to the authorities.
