Steve G. reacted to GTB in Whitespace needs fixing in 4 files
I can fix these myself easy enough, but I thought you should know about this for version IPB 3.0.5
You have 4 files that show whitespace when the white-space tool checker is run.
All 4 files have a blank space after the last closing PHP "?>" at the very bottom of each file. Sinmply delete that line space to fix it in them all. -

All 4 files are third party files and as such we generally avoid modifying them in any form. The "whitespace" detected is actually allowed in the PHP engine, so they're nothing to worry about.
Will consider trimming them just for the checker, but they don't cause any harm, even with the extra newline after the closing PHP tags.
(Note that in our own code, we omit the closing PHP tag to prevent this from being a problem).

Steve G. reacted to Nityananda in VBULLETIN USERS WORRIED ABOUT SKINNING
OK guys,
I am currently running a vbulletin forum with a professional design set. My first and foremost worry about moving over to invision was the design of my forum. My thought behind this is that it is going to be a big enough move over to invision as it stands without the fact that the forum will look completely different.
NOW, bare in mind I only purchased invision less than 24 hours ago. I have almost managed to duplicate the look of my forum with only a very very basic knowledge of CSS and some knowledge of photoshop. How have I done this? I would seriously urge you to have a good read through the topic on this forum http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/index.php?showtopic=37422
This tutorial, I would print out and have at the side of you throughout your transition. Its simple, and it works...... Dont worry about your skinning guys. IMO its easier than vbulletin 3.8 and at the end of the day, you would have to learn 4.0 anyways.

Steve G. reacted to Ali Majrashi in Charset Conversion Libraries
finally after 3 months of searching the web for solution .
finally i found good script.
DataBase Charset Converter v2.2 done by AL3NDALEEB
i think this will help i did not test it yet becouse
i'm away from my computer soon i'll test it and provide feedback her .
it's only one file that will convert your Db even the large one becouse it's done 500 per cycle .
never try it on live forum
also when you export your DB via phpmyadmin export it with the same Charset you use in your forum .
if you use latin1 in your forum export your DB in latin1 form because this script will mainly depend on that
to 100% convert your DB into utf-8 without problems .
i hope this will help  .

Keep in mind only admins/mods can report someone as spam and it takes more than just one or two manual reports to flag a user as a spam account.
