Can you please tell me what errors messages are you getting?
I am not getting an error message, which isn't surprising. As stated, When you go to list topics under a forum, the page renders completely blank when the app is enabled.
I do get the IPS Warnings:
Application Member Block Mismatching parameter list \IPS\forums\Topic\Post::searchResult() N/A /applications/memberblock/hooks/blocksearchactivity.php:29 /applications/forums/sources/Topic/Post.php:262 Yes Application Member Block Conflicting parameter nullability \IPS\forums\Topic\Post::searchResult() $containerData /applications/memberblock/hooks/blocksearchactivity.php:29 /applications/forums/sources/Topic/Post.php:262 Yes You can see those by clicking on support when the app is enabled and checking PHP 8.1 compatablility.

I did check it on my test site with php 8.1. and I did not get any errors.
Just an FYI, I get major errors on my site if I enable this as is. One such issue is that the Topic List renders as a blank white page. Turn it off, all is fine. It's not playing well with the site and other apps and I personally miss this app.

All fine in 4.7.2.1:
Thanks. Just hoping you would check before I start pulling out hair 😉. Appreciate it!

Hi Adriano,
Posting this here because this plugin is what puts the birthdate in the registration form. Since the last IPS update, getting a strange behavior. The birthdate is not in the form. But then appears with a required field error after you click "Create my account". The only other app/plugin that I have that affects registration is "Confirm Email Address". Birthdate issue is same with that plugin on or off.
Could you please take a look and see?

I also liked that it would send out "hey, we haven't seen you in a while" e-mails. I don't think the native IPS software does that.
Ditto... Group promotions also does not delete accounts. The email feature has the ability to rekindle interest in the site rather than just silently demoting a member....

Can you tell me what exactly you need @MythonPonty,@SMen and @CheersnGears to see if it can be done as a new app.
This app was certainly much more than simply identifying last active dates. It was an automated rule based app that moved members into inactive groups and/or deleted the accounts. Key word automated, rather than an admin having to manually run search and move/delete routines...
That functionality always existed, so I am confused why there would be no need for such automation? Unless I am missing some new feature that IPS added to automate this?
Thanks....

Hello @Fosters,
Hate beating a dead horse.... should we just uninstall this amazing add-on? I completely empathize with you app developers, having to continually update/change your apps with every change that IPS makes. We end users purchase these apps because they enhance our user experience tremendously, and or make our lives easier!
You are an anomaly not having a maintenance fee, but I am sure I am not alone that dedicated users do not mind paying a reasonable fee to keep our sites at the operational level we desire.
Please, let us know this apps fate....
Thank you

I believe this is what you are looking for here.
Marc,
Any info regarding OpenSearch 2.1.0 ? When I installed, it was the version available in the repository, but I get a "not supported" error currently.
Thanks

Here is the guide I used to install opensearch 2.0 on centos 7
Install OpenSearch 2.0
java
sudo yum install java-11-openjdk-devel
java -version
OpenSearch -> https://opensearch.org/docs/2.0/opensearch/install/rpm/
sudo curl -SL https://artifacts.opensearch.org/releases/bundle/opensearch/2.x/opensearch-2.x.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/2.x.repo
sudo yum repolist
sudo yum clean all
sudo yum list | grep opensearch
sudo yum install opensearch
sudo systemctl start opensearch.service
First Test
systemctl status opensearch.service
curl -XGET https://localhost:9200 -u 'admin:admin' --insecure
Added when starting linux
sudo systemctl enable --now opensearch
Disabling security -> https://opensearch.org/docs/2.0/security-plugin/configuration/disable/echo -e "\n# To disable security\nplugins.security.disabled: true" >> /etc/opensearch/opensearch.yml
systemctl restart opensearch.service
Second test
curl -XGET http://localhost:9200

sed -i -e 's|-Xmx1g|-Xmx2g|g' /etc/opensearch/jvm.optionsAmazing. Thank you. So much easier than Elasticsearch.
One problem though, for me... OpenSearch has updated since this article. Everything on the server is happy and working great, but IPS is not happy.
OpenSearch version 2.1.0 is not supported.
Perhaps if I wait to make the change for awhile, it will be supported....
-
I see... well, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. The two settings I changed appear to have fixed the problem. Since I manage my own server, I am certain that the changes I make *actually* affect my site, whereas when I had a managed server, making changes may or may not have really had an effect.
-
That was one error. There was also a memory exhausted error.
I have increased both the execution time and allocated memory for the site.
Is there an article/FAQ on optimal PHP settings?
-
or...execution time rather?
-
Getting somewhere thanks to your direction....
Upstream timeout errors.
So, I think if I increase request time, that should fix it?
-
Okay, I will check the server logs and see if something stands out and then let you know...
Strange that a category with 5000 images has an issue, but when re-created and images re-uploaded, it works fine. Perhaps some strange permission issue between the original FTP transfer and the current upload. But then you would think it would effect all, but it is not.
-
Just to note: It's selective: It tends to be the larger categories that have the issue.... Many categories and albums are unaffected.
-
Hi Marc,
I thought there would be an error/system log entry. Users reported the issue to me, so I tested from the Admin login and received the same results. Cleared caches, checked system, permissions, etc.... Absolutely nothing in the error log with my IP address. No entries with today's date in system log.
Choose a category, click right arrow to next image. Varies the number of clicks before screen turns white. Then site needs to be reloaded.
The new categories I created do not seem to be having the issue. Though, they did when I chose to move the images from the old category to the new category. This is why I suspected that perhaps there was an issue that a rebuild would fix. There is a slight naming difference on the server structure, but not on the site structure.
What form of example would assist you?
Thanks

Is there perhaps a utility to Repair/Rebuild Categories and Albums?
I recall such a utility used to exist in long ago versions. I am experiencing viewing issues returning white pages and 502 errors on many categories.
I have a very large gallery. Thousands of categories and albums. I have deleted and reloaded one large category with multiple sub-categories, but doing so loses all comments, reviews etc. I tried creating a new structure and moving the images there, but deleting old category and move to new category.... problem followed.
Utility, help, thoughts? This became an issue when moving site to a new server.
Thanks

Hm, what action did you run exactly?
-
ok.. ran spaciousServerstats.
My details do not have the info requested, see attached.
Config: Xeon E-2146G / 32GB RAM / 2x 500GB SSD/ Centos 7 w/Plesk
More info on how to enable/load the necessary proc? I should not be blocked from anything.....
-
Experiencing interesting issue... Since changing over to a Self-Managed server, I am no longer getting all of the server information I was previously receiving.
Wondering is there is a service that needs to be running on the server or ??? Something missing there that the App isn't picking everything up?

php -i | grep -i curl
Which one once of my servers outputs the following:
sysadmin@mail:~$ php -i | grep -i curl /etc/php/8.1/cli/conf.d/20-curl.ini, curl cURL support => enabled cURL Information => 7.68.0
Yes, my curl is outdated at 7.29.0, even though I have the latest PhP 7.4 and 8 installed and both version report everything up-to-date. I have not found the proper answer to update through search (and my own current lack of experience level). But I will ask Plesk for assistance.

If you are not comfortable being a system admin, you might not want to use an unmanaged host. Literally you’re responsible for it. IPS is not going to support you configuring your server. If it won’t work and it’s a server issue, they’re going to tell you to talk to your host. That means in an unmanaged scenario “good luck you’re on you’re own.”
Excellent advice. I am getting my sea legs back. After moving from the bench to management many, many years ago I stopped staying on top of things as well as I had. But I am getting back there... discovering the changes along the way, so no fear it will work out in the end.
4.7.4 Gallery Recurring Error
in Technical Problems
Posted
I read a similar post regarding an error on older images and a null, however, there was no follow-up on that report. I have hundreds of categories and albums and tens of thousands of images. This has been a recent recurring error in seemingly older images, affecting a few in a category or album, but not all.
I am not competent at reading what the error is trying to tell me. Perhaps it is a setting I can adjust to correct, or is it something that requires further investigation?
Thank you for any help....
