FM Graphics Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Hi I've been having an issue on my site for a few weeks which only allows new members to download content from the downloads area when they leave a review. I haven't made any changes to the downloads permissions or any other permissions such as groups so I'm a bit lost on this one. My normal set up allows users to download any content once they are registered. Has anyone seen this before or know a solution please?
Marc Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Sorry, could I clarify here. You want people to review prior to downloading, and not have them review after? FM Graphics 1

Hi Mark Members should be allowed to download once they've registered and reviews are optional. This is how the site has operated since opening. However, now for some reason they are having to leave a review to be able to download. I haven't changed any permissions at all and when I check everything looks fine. I'm unsure as to how this has happened so I was curious if anyone had any ideas.

I have a plugin that does exactly this but you (no one actually ) has downloaded it. https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/file/230-review-to-download-files/ Check out your apps and plugins. Maybe someone else with permission to do so has installed a similar resource. FM Graphics 1
FM Graphics Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 (edited) Thanks @Adriano Faria It's actually the opposite that I'm looking to do. I simply only require members to register to download and for some reason now have to leave a review to do so. This is how I've always had things set up. Some are now claiming they are being logged out of the site when attempting to download and the only fix is to leave a review and it works fine. It does not seem to effect most members but only new members. Again I have not changed any settings, permissions etc. Edited May 13 by FM Graphics
Jim M Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Could you please provide an example user's display name (or user ID) who is running into this? We can then investigate it this apples to apples to ensure we're looking at the same thing as you. FM Graphics 1
FM Graphics Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Hi Jim Yes here are some examples from our most popular download. I've tried signing in as some of these members and don't have the problem. This is a link to the page. https://footballmanagergraphics.com/files/file/443-fmg-standard-logos-megapack/ Naraujo left the below review. Jim M Posted May 13 Posted May 13 We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section. We look forward to further assisting you. FM Graphics 1
Jim M Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Please check to see if you have server caching or browser caching enabled through your server. If you do, disable it. There seems to be whole page cache happening which may be what they're running into here. FM Graphics 1
FM Graphics Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Thanks @Jim M The cache manager was disabled already but I've disabled the CDN cache to see if that helps.
Jim M Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Excellent. Please let us know if it does not improve after everyone clears their browser cache or it naturally expires. FM Graphics 1
FM Graphics Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 @Jim M Unfortunately I'm still having the same issue. I gave it some time and flushed the cache several times but still no luck. SeNioR- 1
Jim M Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Unfortunately, I logged in as a user who has not made any comments/reviews, etc... who belongs to the member group and I am seeing the Downloads button now.
FM Graphics Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 (edited) That's really odd as I'm still being contact by members claiming to have the issue. These two members below in the past 24 hours. bman5555 nookdfjsdkjf As I mentioned before I've logged in on many of these accounts myself and don't see the issue either but yet they all claim the same thing. Very strange. Edited May 20 by FM Graphics
Jim M Posted May 20 Posted May 20 All I can think is back to your CDN or server caching. Would turn that completely off. FM Graphics 1
