Gary Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Hi @shiobi, I have moved this topic to Help & Support as requested. I assume you haven't you had any luck after getting in touch with another client above? shiobi 1

Jim M Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Is this your Test URL which you're having issues logging in with? Please disable CloudFlare for the time being to see if it is having any impact. I keep seeing IP address conflicts when attempting to login. shiobi 1

Marc Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 You dont seem to have answered the question asked by my colleague there, as to whether this is your test instance?

Marc Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Could you please check to ensure your conf_global is using https , as I suspect it may not be. I see whats happening there, and thats the only time I have seen something similar, unless there is some aggressive caching there somewhere
shiobi Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 'base_url' in conf_global.php has https in the domain: If there is some caching, I don't know where I should start searching 😪Â
Marc Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 You would need to ask your hosting company, and disable any caching that is present. Also ensure you are only using a stock htaccess Â
shiobi Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Well, it's so weird. This is my own server, and I created a VM with Ubuntu specifically for this test installation (twice, indeed, to discard if it was a VM problem). We are migrating to my own server. The production environment is using another host, but it's a bare metal plan with a different distro and PHP version. So in the past, I've installed this software several times, and this is the first time I've encountered a problem like this. 😥
Marc Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 I've tagged our developers to see if they have any idea of what might be happening here. You dont seem to be getting any fail (wrong password etc) its just not logging in. It can only really be something server side there unfortunately shiobi 1
shiobi Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks! Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide.

Update: I deleted the VM and created a new one, this time with Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS. And also: Upgraded to PHP Version 8.2.2 Upgraded MariaDB to 10.6.11-MariaDB-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 But the same problem 😥
Richard Arch Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I don't think IPS is compatible with php 8.2 yet.

shiobi Posted February 8, 2023 Author Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) Perfect, I didn't know that. I changed the PHP version to 8.1. Edited February 8, 2023 by shiobi
Marc Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Let us know if you have any problems once you have switched

Marc Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Have you checked all requirements after you have switched to 8.1 using the requirement checker?

Marc Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Developers have been tagged to see if there is anything further we can think of here, but unfortunately with it being server related, and a test site, there is only so much we can do in terms of support there shiobi 1
shiobi Posted February 8, 2023 Author Posted February 8, 2023 Well, I think I have fixed this issue. I replaced Nginx with Apache, and now I can login without problems. I'll continue investigating this. I have been using Nginx since I installed Invision Community for the first time. It is very weird...
Marc Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Very glad to hear you have a working solution there 🙂 If you wanted to resolve the issue so you can use nginx, you would be best to post in the advanced self hosting section, or indeed hire a server admin to take a look at that for you
