Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Bill in CA Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I'm sure this will seem silly to more experienced users, but how do I set an image as the board's cover photo, and are there any recommended best practices as to image size? Thanks in advance!
Randy Calvert Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Where specifically are you referring to? Are you meaning the board's logo image? (I just want to make sure I understand what you're trying to actually accomplish before making suggestions on something you may not be interested in.)
Marc Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 You can change the logo on your site from your theme in Customization>Themes, by clicking the edit icon. There is no 'cover photo' as such if you mean a background for the header section on the whole site. Thats something you would need to theme in if you wished to add one

Is there a guide online as to how that's done, even if just how to add the photo?
Mark H Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 While there's no guide specifically to add a background image, we do have a number of guides for Themes overall. That can be found starting here:
Bill in CA Posted April 16, 2022 Author Posted April 16, 2022 Thanks. I had tried finding it there and will go back and dig deeper.
Morrigan Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 It will depend on your theme but I believe you are talking about the header behind the logo and the user bar: #ipsLayout_header header That will be the element you need to edit. You would add a background and a height. And then setup a responsive thing to not have it there for smaller devices. Marc and David N. 2
Marc Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 I think the main think you need to be aware of here Bill is that its something you will need to add into your theme (code in) rather than something that is simply a setting
