mike1270 Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Hello, is it possible to deactivate that the board is taking and collecting IP - addresses? Reason: tougher restrictions in the EU.
Solution Jim M Posted March 24, 2022 Solution Posted March 24, 2022 You can prune certain IP addresses in the system by going to the ACP -> in the quick search, type "ip address" -> both "Posting" and "Profile" pages have the ability to prune these according to a timeline. However, IP address collecting as a whole is unable to be deactivated at this time.
Stuart Silvester Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 In terms of GDPR de-activating IP logging isn't really feasible in the grand scheme of things (by the way, I'm not a lawyer. You should consult a specialist in your territory if you're still concerned with what the actual rules are). Everything on your servers' network will log IPs, network switches, routers, web server software etc. The key is not to log that information for longer than is required which is the perfect use for our automatic pruning facility. Although a few years old, you may still find these articles useful Jim M 1
stu_m Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 If you are talking about GDPR then you don't need to do this! GDPR is more about protecting the data that you collect and not sharing it with others
