Colombia Humana Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Hello there, I'm trying to edit some custom CSS, but I get this error: I wonder what folder(s) should I modify its chmod to 777 in order to fix this? I already chmoded uploads but it didn't work. I'm using Jelastic with Litespeed as webserver.
Jim M Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Please be aware that Litespeed server is not supported or recommended so you may encounter issues running this setup. Please ensure that your server is not running mod_security or other security modules which may be blocking the request made here. (You may need to check with your hosting provider if you are unsure). Please also check that the code in which you're placing is valid.
Colombia Humana Posted September 28, 2021 Author Posted September 28, 2021 I disabled mod_security following this guide https://www.litespeedtech.com/support/wiki/doku.php/litespeed_wiki:config:waf:disable-waf-in-htaccess and it worked just fine. But I wonder: why is Litespeed not recommended? What's the recommended webserver? nginx or apache?
Mark H Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Apache is the only supported platform. Some have used nginx successfully, but I personally have not heard anyone say they were able to use Litespeed without at least some problems.
Marc Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Just to clarify on this, our product is tested an built for on an apache based environment. Therefore technical support for non-Apache based web servers may be limited. We do not recommend or provide support for Windows server environments at all. Of course, we do have many users who decide to use alternative environments such as nginx, and there are people who even use nginx rewrite rules for example. But by doing so, you would have to bear in mind that at times, support will be limited as it can be caused by the environment rather than the platform.
