Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Louis C Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 When upgrading one of my communities I get this error: I run two communities and the other one had the same error but IPS Support fixed the other one when fixing an unrelated issue. When I asked them how they fixed it, they didn't seem to understand.... this was a while back now and the support ticketing system has changed so I can't even find the conversation. Anyway, how can I fix this? I hate having to do this manually every time. I'd like the auto upgrade to work again. Currently on v4.6.5.1, upgrading to v4.6.6.
Marc Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 There doesnt actually appear to be any tickets related to manual upgrading that I can see. Do you have another account somewhere? It unlikely anyone would not know how they have resolved something. We did have an issue previously with PHP 8 and upgrades, which was resolved. You can also check in your uploads/logs folder which may tell you why this is happening
Marc Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Ah, indeed if this wasnt just now you had the issue, and you were trying yesterday, that might be what was causing the issue. If it was just now though, that wont be the cause

The issue raised in this thread relating to step 4 is not fixed. 8 minutes ago, Marc Stridgen said: There doesnt actually appear to be any tickets related to manual upgrading that I can see. The ticket was for an unrelated issue, but when they fixed that unrelated problem it also fixed this problem. The subject of the ticket was "Error when updating marketplace app". 15 minutes ago, Marc Stridgen said: You can also check in your uploads/logs folder which may tell you why this is happening Thanks! Found a permission denied error there. It's too late to tell if I've fixed the permissions now because I went ahead with the manual upgrade due to the site being stuck in an "upgrading" state, but I'll try it again next time. Marc 1
Jim M Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Glad to hear you at least got this resolved for now. If you run into this again, I would recommend checking permissions again and ensuring your folders/files are owned by the proper group/user for your web server. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Louis C 1
