BouncingXkala Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Hey guys just wanted to ask you all how you give access to any developer that needs access to the backend of your platform, we use IPB combined with a good backend system already, just wanted to seek other ideas.
Steph40 Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I created an account, send it to the dev and delete it once the problem has been fixed.

BouncingXkala Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 Just now, Steph40 said: Depends what they need to do, I try to restrict to their app or plugin. Fair enough, but what if they are making a custom application in the backend and need FTP access?
CoffeeCake Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 You should have a separate test install to limit the developers to a separate copy of your production environment. BouncingXkala 1

Aiwa Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 For a new custom app, you’ll want it created in a test environment not directly in production. Simply best practice development and deployment workflow. The same should hold true for anything purchased from the marketplace if you have the facilities to do so. IPS does testing, but ultimately you’re responsible for ensuring it works with your custom community.
