Gauravk Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I'm little lost here that we like to offer free trial for fix days but I am unable to set that unless we toggle renew option. How can we have 1 time subscription for X amount for X days, after which member move to previous group.......?
Jim M Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Renewals control both the expiration and renewal period so you would not be able to have a subscription that expires without a renewal.
Gauravk Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 Isn't that quite illogical.....? Please explain how i can give 1 time free trial subscription - globally popular for all subscription based models.

FYI. With 0 payment now, and x amount on renewal it wont ask for credit card now. Anyways that's not the concern here, you mixing two different things here. I still say the same that IPB should have an option to create a free trial that ends at x days and not like present setup.

mcsg Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 We have a need for a name and email free trial, because the simpler the signup, the more likely user will sign up to try the service. The funnel is short and they are more likely to try the service if they do not have to enter a credit card and other information. We give them a "trial" set of features because if they had full access with ability to cancel, people would use the service to get some quick information they want/need, then cancel the service. With a "trial" they can get try the service, but to really get the full abilities, they have to pay for the annual service. Again, the free "trial" is to get them in the funnel, to quickly sign up, and to feel like they can try without getting out a credit card, entering a bunch of info, etc. @gauravk We too think there should be a trial feature because we can capture the user quickly then get them to subscribe once they see the benefits. Review this great thread to get some ideas:
