Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
LDDG Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Hi guys, While I prepare for the upcoming 4.4.x release, I want to begin making sure my server is running the best configuration for it. I am currently on IPS 4.3.6 and my question is: Can I go ahead and upgrade my server to PHP 7.3.x and MySQL 5.6.2 without breaking my current IPS 4.3.6 setup? I'm currently on PHP 7.2.14 and MySQL 5.5.5-10.2.21-MariaDB ...
Nathan Explosion Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Stay as is, upgrade to 4.4 and then upgrade PHP to 7.3...otherwise you will break 4.3.6 as it doesn't support PHP 7.3

Same applies for MySQL? Stay on MySQL 5.5.5-10.2.21-MariaDB then upgrade to MySQL 5.6.2 after upgrading to IPS 4.4.x?

It's just PHP that you would need to hold off on until you upgrade to 4.4.

Why will you upgrade from MariaDB 10.2 to MySQL 5.6? That is not even an upgrade, but more like an downgrade. What you can do is upgrade from MariaDB 10.2 to 10.3.
