ibaker Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 I have acquired a new dedicated server to run my IPS site on...my site being: Registered users: 11,000+ Concurrent max: 200 Threads: 70,000 Posts: 500,000 The new server is dedicated and contains: Intel Xeon E-2176G - 6 Cores 12 threads at 3.7GHz with turbo to 4.7GHz >14,000 passmark! 16GB DDR4 ECC Memory 2666mhz (fastest these chips will take!) 500GB NVMe samsung 970 drive! 30TB outbound on 1gbps port Location: LA And I was wondering if anyone can suggest a real IPS server guru who can load the OS and tweak it all (server and IPS config) to get the absolute best performance out of IPS...thanks if you can
Makoto Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Hiya @ibaker, I'm happy to offer my services to you if you're still seeking an experienced Server Administrator. I've worked with various large companies to set up and optimize their IPS communities over the years, and currently run forums handling over 4,000,000 pageviews a month on a single optimized dedicated server. I have also authored various in-depth performance guides here over the years which you're free to use as a reference! Interested in doing business? Just send me a PM. Happy Holidays!

ibaker Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 Hi @ASTRAPIÂ I sent you a PM the other day, my server is now built and ready for ready to be set up...please advise if you are able to do...thanks
ASTRAPI Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 If you would like to use FreeBSD i will not be able to help on that as all my optimizations are based on Centos... You may way want to go ahead with Makoto or any other service provider.... If you want to use Centos 7.x yes i can do it for you and i will need only root ssh access. So check it and let me know using PM if you want to go ahead using Centos. Thank you
ibaker Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 Hi, yes the latest version of centos would be good

Thank you Hi ASTRAPI. I am probably going to make the jump to a dedicated server.  I'm in no rush, going to learn and plod my way through it. I will definitely be knocking on your door in the coming months to hire you to correct whatever tomfoolery I come up with. My path was Ubuntu, as it seemed easier for a noob.  However, it seems in reading the server threads CentOS is preferred? Should I bother with Ubuntu or drop that and go with CentOS? EDIT: Starting with CentOS Thanks, JM
