rebecah Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Could someone please tell me where the files for messenger are located. I just recently moved my site to a new server. It seems like something might be missing. I have had so much trouble getting my site to even work so I hate to mess with any files that might take it back down. Any help would be much appreciated. Edit: I found the messenger file under applications/core/sources/messenger coping those did not help. It is not only messerger that does not allow text input it is also the Forums.
opentype Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Try clearing the cache in the support section of the ACP. You probably have outdated links to your JavaScript files. It’s not likely a problem of missing core files.
Daniel F Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Do you see any errors in the browser JS console?
rebecah Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 I tried to post a screenshot in my forums and this was the message I got...image I'm attaching. To me, it looks like I'm not able to write to my database. I have requested that my server look into this too, I have run the support tool several times and it does not find any errors. Thanks so much for the help!
Nathan Explosion Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Nope, it is an error running the required query because a field in the table ('who_viewed') doesn't have a default value....and because it is not explicitly in the query then it can't write the record. who_viewed isn't a default field in the forums_topics table, so do you have a plugin installed which counts who views topics?
rebecah Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 What would that have to do with not being able to enter text in messenger and also downloads? There is a plugin installed called: topic viewed by.

rebecah Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Thanks so very much for trying to help. There had been an edit to the editor that support found. It is all fixed now. :)
