How do I enable profile status updates by default?

Also, is there a status update block I could put anywhere on my site so that people could update their status no matter where they are?

Unfortunately, that's not possible, as far as I know.

You can use the Recent Status Updates block.

@DawPi wow, my bad. But that's nice, thank you. I was looking for a setting like that just a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find it, was it added in a recent update (or have I just been blind this whole time)?

It was added for 4.3.0 ?

This is in the plugin since 4.0.X. Will remove it.

I'm in 4.3.3 and there is no default options (only on/off).
