Graphite Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 If you’re planning on having a news site/forum combo run on Invision, is it better to use the Pages app or Blog app for that? Looking forward to hearing from people who have used either. Thanks.
opentype Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Depends on what you want to do. With blogs you give users their own section – the “blog”. With Pages the structure is based on categories the admin sets. That’s the main difference.
simonle Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Go with Pages! The blog add-on is more directed towards your users, it also lacks many blog features such as categories.
Joel R Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 To compare: Pages: can do everything. Custom templates, custom pages, custom blocks, articles and news, wiki mode, custom databases. Blogs: can do blogs.
Cemmos Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I doubt there needs to be much more in favor of Pages, but I'd definitely go with that. It's just much more versatile, and can be a blog itself if you wanted. Blogs, imo, would take quite a bit of template customizing before I'd want to use it as a front page for a site. Well, depending on the feel we're going for.
sobrenome Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Is there a blog alike template for pages in marketplace?
