My site is cloud hosted with IPS and I see it says it's not running on PHP 7 and should be upgraded to PHP7 for faster performance. Do you know the timeframe of when IPS is planning on changing this?

That change is in process already, actually, though it will not be finished for a while yet.

PHP 5.6 works fine for IPS4, however, so there is no need to worry.
