Hi I upgraded my site to the current and also re-DL'd the file and installed but it appears after a day or couple, the top button and bottom name display just goes away and I have to keep re-entering the plugin settings.  ANy idea why?

Thanks

There is an IPS bug that is being researched right now by IPS staff. For some apps and plugins, settings are randomly being reset. So you are probably in a holding pattern right now. Currently proctoring an exam so no time to confirm all is good but I'll double check when I get a chance later

Plugin shows same members in all topics? IPS updated and lastest version of this plugin reinstalled.

I think this is a great idea for a plugin. I have mentioned before on the IPS support chat that posters need to see how many times thier posts have been viewed by everyone.

Is there anyway that this counter could also show # of guest views per post on the actual post itself?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I'm having a problem with the widget version. For some reason its not displaying people's names when they view the thread for me but for my friend who has the same secondary permissions (admin) as me sees himself as viewed the topic 6 times across the entire forums not just on that thread.

What do I do?

I have two problems.

1.  There is same member multiple times in the widget (1st picture). Closed community and only 50 members. No guests.

Plugin settings should be fine? (2nd picture)

2. Can't save blank English translation (3rd picture). When I save empty English fields it returns translations back.

Version 8 released.

There is no real changes other than changing how a single setting is evaluated from if (! this.setting) to (this.setting == 0) in the hopes that maybe this helps CIC users. At a loss otherwise.

Welcome aboard Who Viewed the Blog peoples!

No need for another support topic as the baseline code is pretty much the same.

Looking to backport some of the new stuff into Who Viewed the Topic - overlapped avatars for one - but what you would think would be a simple job to move over the code and make it compatible with blogs turned into a multi day job so I'm going to clear my head of this stuff for awhile at least - that and let the blogs version settle in first before coming back around to WVTT.

Was wondering though, is anyone really using WVTT as a sidebar widget? The code is a little hacky to get this stuff to work as widgets and I wouldn't mind all that much being able to ditch that in favor of template inserted blocks. Either under the last post on the page, or just after the topic header area.

I use a widget just below the page header. Will you remove this?

No.

There will still be a below header block or a bottom page block, just like top and bottom widgets, but they won't be widgets anymore. But side bar (left or right side of page) widgets will be gone.

I can sketch this out in the morning so people can better understand.

This is what I mean

Widgets are out, but the block or button will still be where you expect. Only difference is the blocks are more underneath the topic title header area or move up from the very bottom of the page, depending on your choice of position.

Are you planning "Who Viewed the Page" also?

Yeah... Right while I was wrapping WVTB up I thought... yeah...

It will be more along the lines of who viewed the database record though (using the provided Articles db that ships with IPS Pages this would be the equivalent of who viewed an article). Plain vanilla custom pages (no db involved) might be trickier (read: I would have to do new things) but I honestly haven't looked.

The pile of work keeps growing, it'll happen when it happens.

That's exactly what I meant - however, we would like to have this for all data base records, and not just for Articles_DB. ?
