Sheffielder Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Google is warning me I've got some render blocking javascript going on 'above the fold' There's about 9 javascript instances in the uploads folder causing it - an example below Any ideas?/forums/uploads/javascript_core/global_global_core.js.7a6c90487eed64a6a825c4c65fdf0142.js?v=c5abb81381 There error message from Google is Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content Your page has 8 blocking script resources and 7 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page. None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
marklcfc Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I have the same, it has always been the most critical to fix but no idea how?

opentype Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Google Page Speed is showing you areas where you MIGHT improve things, if that works for your site. But that’s just an algorithm talking. You might actually not want to deliver your site with certain JavaScripts and CSS rules loaded later. Just for fun, I just picked the first Google owned web forum I could find and let it check in Google Pagespeed. I got only 70/100 with the same page blocking warning. Even Google has no problem delivering forums like this. ;-)

Probably outdated templates ... Some templates have been edited, but I did look at theme differences whenever upgrading and made sure to update them. Any idea which template could be the issue? globaltemplate looks ok to me and that seems to be the one where it sets the js

Adlago Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 @Sheffielder It's very easy. Many years reading, analysis, testing - too many different web tests ... etc When IPS started 4.0 I noticed very much effort saving ... so I became a client. ha ha... For me it is very easy ... and now if you do test my live site will get the same results. If you do the test result GtMetrix will receive 100% speed score
