Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
BN_IT_Support Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Simple plugin that changes the behaviour of a forum topic title link so that it goes to the first unread post rather than the first post in the topic. At the moment this is a global change but it could be done on a per-user basis if there is sufficient interest.
BN_IT_Support Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Should be okay on the variants of 4.1.13. What's not working?
marklcfc Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Apoligies, seems to be an error in my skin somewhere as it works on default
BN_IT_Support Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 No problem. Note (to self!) I have yet to check it with this which may affect 4.1.14
tolik777 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Perfect works on last version 4.1.14. Thank you!
Runar Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Quote At the moment this is a global change but it could be done on a per-user basis if there is sufficient interest. I would love to have this option, as only some of my members would like this function and I don’t want to enable it for the entire forum.

It could be made with a setting in admin that enables or disables a user setting which activates the ability for a members to control it them self in their settings. Could be a nice feature!
BN_IT_Support Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 I'll have another think about it. I'm not convinced that this plugin isn't more trouble than it's worth though.
BN_IT_Support Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Don't know, haven't tried it yet. If it doesn't then I would think it a fairly easy fix.
BN_IT_Support Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 I'm upgrading tomorrow so I'll let you know.
BN_IT_Support Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 No is the answer - I'll have a look at it later.

BN_IT_Support Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 Apologies, new version should be available now.
surinp3 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Works on unread topics (I am on 4.2.1 and the latest version of your plugin), but not on already read ones. Only goes to first post, if topic is already read, regardless of setting in ACP. Maybe you could have a look?
surinp3 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Aha... If you are on a stream-page with already read topics, the unread ones do not link to the last post. That would be the correct description of my issue. Maybe a bug?
BN_IT_Support Posted July 28, 2017 Author Posted July 28, 2017 Are you sure?! It's working okay for me here. Edit: Okay this plugin isn't doing anything to steams only forum topic listings. There is a built-in option under the activity stream filters to determine how they behave.
surinp3 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Just now, Edward Shephard said: Are you sure?! It's working okay for me here. See my post above here. I corrected my issue description. It is on the stream pages the read topics don´t link to the last post. I use a 24h stream on my community (where all topics from the last 24h are showing, read and unread) and thats where the issue is for me. On the already read topics.
BN_IT_Support Posted July 28, 2017 Author Posted July 28, 2017 Yes I saw - we cross-posted. As I said the plugin isn't making any changes to activity streams but you should be able to set that using the built-in setting.

I was so sure that behaviour was due to your plugin (even in the streams), but I now see your plugin works differently. Thanks for clearing it up.
Tom_F Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Works great although not on mobile view unless I'm being silly.
