Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Pescao6 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Hey guys, I can't seem to find the getting started guides for IPB4. I don't know if they were deleted or moved. 1) Anyone got a link for those guides for modifying the site? 2) How do I remove the index.php? thing from the URL? 3) Do you have any other advice for beginners? Eg. Must Have Plugins, Suggestions, etc. Thanks in advance.
AndyF Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 https://invisionpower.com/4guides/how-to-use-ips-community-suite/ 2. Go to ACP > System > Site Promotion > Search Engine Optimisation > Enable 'friendly URL's' (it may already be enabled) Enable 'ReWrite URL's' , this will remove the index.php. Note: You *must* upload the file it provides (where it states "download this file") to your community root directory. If you do not have FTP/File System access, do not enable this setting. Are you a Cloud Client ? If so Support may be able to assist with this. 3. This is a bit subjective as it depends a lot of the type of community. I like a 'Members Online Today' and 'Group Legend' addons personally.

That reminds me... do you know if there is a way to display a list of ALL registered Members?

Pescao6 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 I'm surprised IPB4 has the List of all Registered Members hidden on the ACP. If only it didn't display ip addresses and it displayed last activity date, number of posts and online status... The Member Lists Pro seems like the best one I could find, but it doesn't seem ideal for forums with hundreds or thousands of Members. I may just need to make my own. I might get creative and link it to the RuneScape HiScores API. Are there any guides for making add-ons? I read something about the Bug Tracker here being made with Pages. EDIT: I just noticed the word ACP was highlighted and include a description. That's cool. How do I do that?
