EmpireKicking Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I already upgrade php before I updated the software. No problems at my end. is your MySQL backed up? If so then install a fresh website, means alot of work but install a new one and import the database back in. First backup. I backup mySQL every hour with emails saying it's passee
John_C Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Well, I was wrong. I'm on php 5.4 and there is no way to upgrade any higher....

EmpireKicking Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 who are you hosting with, sounds like they are crap in my opinion. I'm running 5.6
John_C Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 GoDaddy... Linux Ultimate hosting plan... I don't think it is their issue. Like I said, the forum ran fine before updating...

Mahumba Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I just visited your forum. Did you disable 3rd party addons before upgrading? I have been getting into the habit of doing that. I ain't no pro at computer lingo and stuff but I'm seeing that some of the addons could and do cause issues during an upgrade. I now disable them all. Then update. I will then enable them one at a time to see if there are any issues along the way. Roger

Is that common practice?

If still happening with plugins disable then it's not that

EmpireKicking Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 good, but needs to be improved https://gtmetrix.com/reports/streetntrack.net/yVJhe2Sf
Mahumba Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Ok, first off and I don't know why did it but I called godaddy. Their highest php setting they have is 5.5 which you can set on your side. So switch it to 5.5! Your board will throw you errors on 5.4 like a 500 to 1 dodge ball game! By the way, I don't use godaddy but their customer line didn't leave ya on hold for 1/2 a day listening to that mind bending music and they even give you an option to hit the pound key to turn off the music! haha Roger
AlexJ Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Godaddy is BS host. Nothing worst then Godaddy exist for hosting your forum.
Mahumba Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Oh and they also mentioned tat they would not have php upgrades higher than 5.5 until they upgrade their servers. Roger
