Khalat Jalal Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 hi everyone,I have a problem with the translation, i want to translate a specific application only , please guide me how to do that ...
pisaldi Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 That's not possible to do...How it should be done would be going to the Language, then clicking to the Translate button, once there you should go to Search and there should be present a Source option which nowadays is not present... if it was there you should choose the application (Forums, Downloads, System, Calendar) you would want to translate there
Khalat Jalal Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 nowadays is not presentDoes they planed to add this feature in the future ?or the had this feature, and they removed it in this version ?
pisaldi Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 In v3.4.7 the translation system worked different, and it was possible to translate each application when you wanted independent of other applications...They have improved a lot the translation system in this new v4 but they forgot to allow translating applications when you wanted and not altogether...I don't know if they plan to arrange this... I hope!
Meddysong Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 If you download the translation you'll see there's a field with the app name with which the string is associated. You can later upload the new Language.xml as a newer version.

pisaldi Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Thanks! I think I will use this file so much, but it would have been better if I had found some days ago... Dank. Diese datei ist hilfreich
Meddysong Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Whoops, bad advice from me above. You *don't* get the app name when you download the XML - it's held in the table core_sys_lang_words. SELECT * FROM 'core_sys_lang_words' WHERE 'word_app' = 'forums' etc is what you need to get just the relevant strings.

Daniel F Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 You can't separate them. The phrases in IPS4 are global, you can use them in the front and backend.
