Looking at upgrading our test site from 3.4.0 to 4.x beta

Anything i should be aware of when doing this ? i.e. should i take note of all the config files first or does the upgrade pick up on this

Can i upgrade from 3.4.0 to 4 or do i need to get to 3.4.7 first

Will 4 run on php 5.5.x

Yea, you have to upgrade to 3.4.7 before you upgrade to 4.0.

A lot of the links to the upgrade docs are broken.  I would assume that you upload the files and it will do the rest.

Not personally tested but I *think* any 3x version will do for the upgrader. It won't support older legacy versions (ie 2x or lower)

I would wait for the next beta or RC  release before upgrading there are still several bugs that have been found in this process with the current beta.

Any idea of time for the RC 

When upgrading from 3.4.7 to 4.0 beta 2 i get loads od database errors. i would recommend to wait till RC or Final! Try on a test site before live site! 

Hello guys...i dont know ho to upgrade. Where do i have to put the ipb 4 files ? do i need to install ipb4 toanother location ?

upload via ftp the beta2 files, overwriting your 3.4.7 files, then goto www.yoursite.com/admin/upgrade

I am looking at upgrading a test site - see my first post - i wouldn't be upgrading a live site until 4.x is considered stable
