ᴡᴅツ Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Given the upcoming release of 4.0, please let us know how long IP.Suite 3.4.X* will be supported. :) thank you *this includes IP.Content, Nexus, etc.
Rheddy Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 More than likely, I expect support to continue until at least IPS 4.1. Security issues and patches are likely to be issued for more than a few years.
Aiwa Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 If previous history says anything, expect to see an EOL announcement for 3.3.x when 4.0 is released. As keiichi said, expect to see 3.4.x supported through at least 4.1. Historically, IPS supports the two latest major branches, which right NOW is 3.3.x and 3.4.x.
Rheddy Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Thanks, Aiwa. That's generally IPS' stance. They allow users who don't want to upgrade to continue receiving support for the previous version or versions. I was looking at the low end spectrum of the support branch. But you're right, expect support to continue until at least 4.1, possibly 4.2. If you're looking for a specific answer, you can anways contact IPS Customer Support on the timeframe for EOL support for the 3.x series.

ᴡᴅツ Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 More than likely, I expect support to continue until at least IPS 4.1. Security issues and patches are likely to be issued for more than a few years. That's great to hear!
Rheddy Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Sure thing. Even though IPS will end support for a previous version, they have been known to continue to issue security patches for vulnerabilities to the previous versions of the software, up to a certain point. I would expect security patches to continue to be released for 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 as far ahead as IPS 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4, respectively. :)
