Robert Simons Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 FYI, ProMenu and Fusion header menu work fine together, though i would prefer that ProMenu had it's own header menu  well thats the idea with the group concept .. I'll have it setup so you have the choice of different placements per group ... global permissions per group (with independent menu override) ... when you first view the "Menus" you would first hit the groups ... then edit menus within..hitting the current page you'd see ... this would also mean header, primary, and maybe even a footer choice .. would all offer subs as well .... then maybe some side settings as well .. and if possible...have a selection for say a specific application or page..an option to use board wrapper or parse for a content page..stuff like that
Robert Simons Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 keep in mind..a project like that .. will take some time to work..so new versions would be slow to be released..but if someone needs something specific we discussed added b4 hand..I could probably squeeze out a minor upgrade release anyone have any thoughts?
Richard.C Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 sweet :) feel free to have a quick nose at our Dev site where we have Header, Primary and Footer menus (work in progress)
Robert Simons Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 sweet  feel free to have a quick nose at our Dev site where we have Header, Primary and Footer menus (work in progress) nice .. and kinda what I was going for..with the static bar ... not sure how I'd swing a footer display yet...but I'm sure I can whip up something think I'll start working on building that concept .. as adding groups should be easy enough
Richard.C Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 nice .. and kinda what I was going for..with the static bar ... not sure how I'd swing a footer display yet...but I'm sure I can whip up something footer is essentially hard coded within globalTemplate so anything would be better than that :D
Richard.C Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 One thing that does need to be considered (if you haven't already) is a stripped down Mobile version, or some level of mobile support.
Dmacleo Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 isn't the mobile issue, prevalent through many mods/hooks, more a js issue?
Robert Simons Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 isn't the mobile issue, prevalent through many mods/hooks, more a js issue? I believe so..wouldn't be able to use dropdowns within a mobile at all
Dmacleo Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I believe so..wouldn't be able to use dropdowns within a mobile at all that was my understanding (as limited as THAT is :) ) also.
Richard.C Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I believe so..wouldn't be able to use dropdowns within a mobile at all exactly. if theme = mobile then load basic css menu
Robert Simons Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 exactly. if theme = mobile then load basic css menu since the primary links (not including subs) is using the IPB defaults ... I would assume the mobile skin doesn't have any type primary nav at all (at least not like your typical web style anyway).. hence no menu seen ...as ATM this basically replaces what already exists .... now with the new grouping I'm working on .. its very feasible to create a "mobile" group as well .. and have it add it in somehow that way .. would have to look into it more to be sure as I've never played with mobile much
Ocean West Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 What about a menubar kind of like here on IPS they have that menu bar just below the tabs "Client Area..." a way to produce a menu bar in that location would be handy.

I already have this idea in the works
Dmacleo Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 it would be in the js file .. second line .. s=6 ... increase this number to slow the display fwiw 4 seems to be the sweet spot for me with multiple skins, speedy but not over sensitive :)
Richard.C Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 fwiw 4 seems to be the sweet spot for me with multiple skins, speedy but not over sensitive  It could also do with a delay before fadeout, the number of times my mouse has accidentally slipped off a menu and I've had to go back to the parent menu and start again...... not so much with this menu yet, but those using the ACP my apps menu *sighs* will know it may become an issue further down the line
Dmacleo Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 just noticed something, seems only way to delete a sub-sub-menu item (item nested under a submenu) is to first move it to be just a sub then you can delete it.
Robert Simons Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 just noticed something, seems only way to delete a sub-sub-menu item (item nested under a submenu) is to first move it to be just a sub then you can delete it. yeah..there is no way to really throw in a delete when its that deep without throwing off the continuity ..maybe I can try to add a tiny one next to it..as clicking it goes to the edit aspect next version will contain a purge option for all menus .. and an orphan tool for all menus tied to apps no longer installed .. among many other things of coarse :P
Dmacleo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I was thinking of a delete option in the edit options, even if not in the drop down at least when in the actual edit screen an option, but I have no idea if thats possible. its not a huge deal once you know, just caught me by surprise  looking fwd to next version, you've done well here :)

Robert Simons Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 I have it logged to add in .. though I as mentioned b4..this will be a big upgrade..and take time to assemble .. if any small changes are needed b4 hand..I can make a quick release for these little ones
Dmacleo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I may have missed it, do you have a tracker/suggestions setup running? if so I could have done this there, sorry. and IMO this is not something that needs any quick update, once you know how its easy.

I have a bug tracker in the overview .. a concept design thought up by a staff member of mine ... his development actually .. we plan on trying to make it to work with any application and yes I know..that's a small one..and not really a bug .. but if something not to big appears and I have to release an upgrade before this big one ... I'll make sure to add in all the small ones as well
Dmacleo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 with all its issues the iptracker app is still pretty decent, was thinking we could save you time by using something like that. I saw the item in the menu but wasn't sure if we should use that for suggestion, minor items like this. if preferred I certainly will use that, whatever is best for you.

I follow the support topic.. so you can always post here for support ... in fact I encourage it as it benefits the community .. but say you get a user that doesn't come to the community that often ... or I sell this outside this community marketplace .... alot of ppl would be hesitant to go to a site, register/sign in...just to post an issue ...so bugs can go untracked ... but if all they have to do is track it from their admin panel .. then its feasible they will submit
Dmacleo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 yeah that makes sense, I'll try it out to see :)
