I believe we have a topic out there about that ... you run IPC outside your forum root correct?
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 yup http://www.davemacleod.net/forums/tutorials/article/14-ipcontent-as-domain-home-furls-and-htaccess/ was only way I coul make it work 100%
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 yuphttp://www.davemacle...s-and-htaccess/ was only way I coul make it work 100% there is a way to run it from within the same root ... with better results with furls that what your currently running check out my site .. its all in one root http://www.themidnightzone.com
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I had it all under root before but I needed to run forums under /forums to prevent issues with other sub domains I will be running. I debated running everything under /forums and treating as root, but in the end the current setup fits my needs better as I may eventually be running another board also.
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 I had it all under root before but I needed to run forums under /forums to prevent issues with other sub domains I will be running. if ya didn't notice .. my forums is under /forums/ .. but I'm still within the same root as IPC
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I just edited to cover that  possibly one ipcontent install handling multiple boards in future.
BN_IT_Support Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 ya..not sure whats going on there...waiting on a pm reply .. wanna get in under an account and see whats up first hand Just replied - many thanks. E
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Just replied - many thanks. E issue found and resolved...grab a new copy and upload it..no upgrading required ... just a simple overwrite
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 @Edward I did leave your settings setup to show recursive lookup now .. so once your patched it should work as intended
BN_IT_Support Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hmm still not quite there. The root reference without the page name is now triggering one of the top level menus set as a category. I'll pm you the FTP details. Cheers

Cheers thats intended behavior @Edward I did leave your settings setup to show recursive lookup now .. so once your patched it should work as intended if you dont want this effect .. disable recursive lookup ok I see what you mean now .. having a look
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 ok..your refixed...you had not selected a page while using the application ccs .. so this caused a clash with the activity .. tieing to it a page .. it now activates properly
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 its actually more extensive than that... its all actually marked quite well .. except for the last section ... under /* INACTIVE ARROWS FIRST >.< ALTER AT YOUR OWN RISK*/ are background colors to change as well ... plus hover colors and font colors .. and plus you'll need to recolor your arrows to match ... I didn't mark those .. as those where last minute adjustments made on the fly before I released on the skin I am working now I am trying to make the nav bar background trasparent. shouldn't background: transparent !important; under #primary_nav .promenu a.inactive do that?
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 on the skin I am working now I am trying to make the nav bar background trasparent. shouldn't background: transparent !important; under #primary_nav .promenu a.inactive do that? on the first release yes...this release would require more tweaking .. play with it..worse case is ya have to revert .. can't get it right I can always come in and help if desired
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 have not broken...I mean tried...it yet but if I am reading it right I have to do the actual background as well as the active and inactive colors on nav bar as each of the 3 effects it.
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 ya..you'll have several changes to make to alter background colors for hover, active, inactive, etc
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 set those 3 to transparent (the background: transparent !important; is how I should write code correct? ) and there is differences but I have missed one. I am on its track though :) the only change I actually need is for the menu items directly on nav bar, all other stuff was fine.

I too have issues with css ... but I understand the basics .. enough to get me by anyway LOL it took MT and I quite awhile to get it like it is now ...
Robert Simons Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 lol I know nothing except how to break it  good thing they have a revert button then eh? LOL
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 yup, also helps if I purge cache (maxcdn) between each step :)
Dmacleo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 yup I failed LOL I think using a transparency there would be problematic, in the end it should be easier to just use the nav bar hex# there so active/inactive would still show different.

I thought as much ... best to change to another color versus transparent .. something to suit your needs
