Michael Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Can we only upload (overwrite) with new files (mean updated) or we must first uninstall and after install again? I have Shoutbox ver 1.3.2 and Board 3.3.1. regards bosss You don't have to do anything if you already have the latest version, all I did was add some code that helps those who couldn't install or upgrade. With the shoutbox pinned to the top of the index page the 'shout' button doesn't work. If I use the shout tab the same button works. Any suggestions? http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/340044-download-shoutbox/page__st__1560#entry2219891

Meulendijks89 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You get that error when you click on what? Woops sorry if i click on My Prefs / Popup
Michael Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 OK, it evidently comes from clicking the main Shoutbox navigation link, it was a consequence of the fix I put in for the installation issue. You can re-download and re-upload the /admin/applications_addon/other/shoutbox/sources/classes/library.php file to fix that.

boguss10 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Hey, how can I make Shoutbox visible only for choosed groups? :) And invisible if you aren't logged in.. :) Regards
Michael Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Edit each group from the Manage User Groups page and set which ones can use the Shoutbox from the Shoutbox tab.
Kandice Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Can you tell me how to fix this, or is there a setting to do this? The text when it get too long it go past the Date Format, it does not get indent like it suppose to. I try installing the latest version of version. I get a FURL Cache out of date, I re-cache that, but it still doesn't do anything. I'm using Shoutbox v1.3.2 on IPBoard 3.2.3
Michael Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 It is supposed to look like that. Regarding the FURL cache being out of date, that would be an IP.Board issue, not something with this app.
The_Welsh_One Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Hi Michael, I upgraded my IPB board yesterday and the shoutbox suddenly stopped working, I realised there was a new version available and promptly installed this. The problem Is I am attempting to post a shout by normal means, type a message and press the enter key or select the shout button, nothing happens. I have checked permissions and all seems fine. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

kahrizma Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 HELP! I keep getting this error when installing the shout box in my forum. Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPSLib::makeNameFormatted() in /home/domainname/public_html/admin/applications_addon/other/shoutbox/sources/classes/library.php on line 700
Michael Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 HELP! I keep getting this error when installing the shout box in my forum. Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPSLib::makeNameFormatted() in /home/domainname/public_html/admin/applications_addon/other/shoutbox/sources/classes/library.php on line 700 That question is answered in the Shoutbox FAQ:Q. I get this error when I install the app:Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPSMember::makeNameFormatted() in /admin/applications_addon/other/shoutbox/sources/classes/library.php on line 678 A. The line number and file location may vary, but if your error refers to "Call to undefined method IPSMember::makeNameFormatted()", it means you've installed the wrong version of this app for the version of IP.Board you have installed. There is a separate version for IP.Board 3.0/3.1 and IP.Board 3.2. You have to have the 3.2 version if that's what version you're on.
ee_joseph Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hello, I tried to check the FAQs page for 2 days now but it is down and not working :(. So my Q is simple, how do you send private shouts? is it even possible?
Michael Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 There's nothing wrong with the FAQ, it's still accessible. There is no built-in feature for private shouts, but it is on the list of suggestions to be considered for future versions: http://invisionfocus.com/tracker/issue-559-suggestion-ability-to-private-chat/

Michael Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm not sure what to tell you, my site is up and gets people visiting it regularly.
kahrizma Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 That question is answered in the Shoutbox FAQ: I did install the correct version and I still get the same error. I have ipb 3.0 I used shoutbox 1.1.5, so I don't know what's going on. When I change some things under the file tab in the hooks then my forum comes back but shoutbox is never activated. Also is only affects my forum not the gallery or anything else.
Michael Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 If you get that particular error, then the only thing it can mean is that you've installed the wrong version of the app.
kahrizma Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 If you get that particular error, then the only thing it can mean is that you've installed the wrong version of the app. I tried both versions and it gave me the same error. How is that possible? Even my tech admin doesn't know what's going on.
kahrizma Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Ok, nevermind. I tried 1.1.5 twice instead of 1.3. Thanks.
