I can't reproduce any problem with editing shouts, make sure you've done all of the steps here:

That was patched in the latest version of the app, make sure you have uploaded all of the files for the latest version and do a hard browser refresh (Ctrl+F5).

UPDATE: Okay, so after I made the account additions and provided the info, it started working. I think it knew who was coming to check it out. lol

So basically, all things are good. Possibly just my browser being a little naughty.

Maybe I'm being stupid but how do I get the input box to be BELOW the shouts, and not to the right?

In Shoutbox settings, change to Theme 2

ACP > Other Apps > Shoutbox > Hook: Global Shoutbox > Global Shoutbox Look: Theme 2

And save!

you MAY have to choose one, save, then choose other and save again to make it swap. every now and then when upgrading I have to do that to change input box location.

investigating now but it appears applying the ip content 2.3.1 update messes up shoutbox.
no buttons work after update.

You have the latest version? That should already be patched. Do you have a live example I can see?

I just disabled on mine, did add to tracker too, can re-enable and set you up test acct if you want.

edit: I just saw I am behind one (was 1.3.0) will update and see, sorry.

I would like to know there are any chances to add preferences for all users setting to display order? Currently this option is available only in the ACP and is all set only one possibility (Older -> Newer / Newer -> Older).

Great mod! Is there a way to have this appear below the first few Board Index applications already in place, such as Recent Topics, Newest Members, etc? Would like this to be at the bottom, not the very top of the sidebar.

You should be able to drag and drop the Global Shoutbox hook in the Manage Hooks page to rearrange the order it appears in, like other sidebar hooks.

Hey Micheal, when turning BBCode off on the SB, is there any way for it to use a different text editor when on the actual shoutbox page and the pop up, as even though BBCode is turned off, the user can still enter text using the editor including bbcode, and when posted, it shows all the bbcode tags

If you've disabled the setting for allowing bbcode in shouts, then it shouldn't parse, regardless of whether they use editor buttons or if they just type out the bbcode tags. If you're not seeing that, then please file a bug report.

Oh the bbcode isnt parsing, but if bbcode is disabled, wouldn't it be easier for the text editor for the shoutbox page, and pop up not to include the bbcode options?

Basically make it more user friendly for the user, if something is not available too them, why show them the options for it, sort of thing,

No, that would actually takes hours of work to implement. It's not any different from the way anything else works in the forums: if you can't use bbcode, the editor still presents you with the options to try them.
