Spinx to give results out of latin 1 db

Hello

Is it possible sphinx to give results for greek characters from a database like this:

MySQL connection collation: utf8 general ci
But the tables inside are : latin1_swedish_ci <---- And this is the problem...

And i think all there are: latin1_swedish_ci


I am using utf8 on ACP and greek are fine on the forum but i can get search results only if i use manual search and not full text search.
