Clickfinity
Are all uploads stored in a single directory /uploads ? I've got masses of files in this one directory that looks like it's set to continue getting larger and larger (in both size and individual files) and I wondered about the long-term efficacy of this? Would it be worth splitting files up into groups and creating sub-directories to store respective content, for example: avatars profilepics attachments thumbs files etc. Additionally, possibly also breaking down the attachments folder into sub-folders based on some trackable criteria or other. Just a thought ... Cheers, Shaun :D
Management Charles Posted May 31, 2010 Management Share Posted May 31, 2010 No the software creates date-based sub directories to break things up.
Clickfinity
Ah, okay, so have I ended up with them all in once place due to converting from vB?
bfarber
Yes, initial conversion wouldn't have broken them up by date, but moving forward we create monthly_5_2010 folders (example name) to break the uploads up by month.
