Posted May 31, 201014 yr Are all uploads stored in a single directory /uploads ? I've got masses of files in this one directory that looks like it's set to continue getting larger and larger (in both size and individual files) and I wondered about the long-term efficacy of this? Would it be worth splitting files up into groups and creating sub-directories to store respective content, for example: avatars profilepics attachments thumbs files etc. Additionally, possibly also breaking down the attachments folder into sub-folders based on some trackable criteria or other. Just a thought ... Cheers, Shaun :D
May 31, 201014 yr Author Ah, okay, so have I ended up with them all in once place due to converting from vB?
June 1, 201014 yr Yes, initial conversion wouldn't have broken them up by date, but moving forward we create monthly_5_2010 folders (example name) to break the uploads up by month.
