Can we please add an overall stats section to the modification, resources, and themes sites?

I'm aware you can sort each category/section by downloads, latest submission, etc. but I'm looking for overall stats not just by category. :)

We considered it, but we thought people might repeatedly download their own modifications for the sake of becoming the "most popular"...

Isn't there a way to prevent that in code? For example set it so when one IP downloads something, it only hits up the result once. Multiple clicks would not be counted.

Sure, you could, but then it's no longer counting downloads, it's counting unique downloads, which is a separate statistic.
