3DKiwi Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Nigel if you want me to investigate this, drop me a PM with some ACP login info! PM sent. Nigel
Artax Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Notified of an update... but nothing stating what changes have been made?
Bartek Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Why this mode doesn't detect duplicates when user is connecting through proxy gateway even though it is accepting cookies?
Jujulefooteux Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 It's possible to move banned member to Banned Group ?
PrinceOfAbyss Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 It's programmed to mark members as banned using the new way. Meaning, they remain in their group, but the banned "flag" is set. The banned group is abandoned and will soon be completely removed in a new release of IP.B.
3DKiwi Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hi I sent you a pm but haven't you haven't read it yet. The rebuild function is now doing nothing. Can you please help. Thanks Nigel / 3DKiwi
AlexJ Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 It's linking wrong accounts. Half of the time no accounts are linked and many times wrong account are linked. Can you please look into it? Something isn't right.
3DKiwi Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 The alerts where no other account is linked is because the other account has been deleted. I get this all the time where someone signs up with a joke name. I delete it and they sign up again. The mod detects this. Just a matter of running the cleanup tool to clear these. The mod works 100% for me. 3DKiwi
PrinceOfAbyss Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 AlexJ what 3DKiwi said is 99,999999% your case. Just run the Rebuild tool and see how it goes. If it persists (which I doubt), drop me a PM so I can have a look. :)
Michel_72 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Great app, I do have 2 suggestions: 1. Possibility to exclude member groups or specific members from being logged. If I use the 'login as member' option in the ACP, I get logged as a duplicate of this member even though I am just trying to help this member with his profile settings and/or login problems. Exclusions are no good since those tend to pile up after a year....or longer.... 2. Click-able links to the member profiles in the duplicates list. Regards, Michel
3DKiwi Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Good suggestions. I agree. Another suggestion is when you use the delete member option that the other member doesn't vanish. Often I want to delete that member as well. I've got to remember the name and use the normal member tools to delete the second duplicate member. 3DKiwi
PrinceOfAbyss Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Especially 3DKiwi's suggestion is something I have realized many times as well. Basically, I have a completely different approach in mind for the next release. I just can't find some spare time (a week maybe or two) to start it. :(
Michel_72 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Bummer.... I was hoping my first suggestion would find ground ;) It is really annoying that I (as administrator of the site) get confused with members that I used the 'login as' function on. It really should be possible to exclude certain members from writing the 'duplicate-detection-cookie' and therefore being excluded from duplicate logging. Regards, Michel
PrinceOfAbyss Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 I never said your suggestion is out of consideration. I just mentioned 3DKiwi's, as I have also felt this is a missing feature. Yours is also useful (not for me personally, as I've never used the Log in as feature) so it will be somehow implemented in the next release. ;)
Bartek Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Why this mod doesn't detect user duplicates when user is connecting through proxy gateway, even though it is set to accept cookies?
3DKiwi Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Why this mod doesn't detect user duplicates when user is connecting through proxy gateway, even though it is set to accept cookies? Pretty sure it does. 3DKiwi
3DKiwi Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'll let the mod author respond to this as it appears to work with Proxies for me. It's detecting a Flash cookie not detecting IP addresses. All a proxy server does is shield your IP address. If the mod doesn't work with Proxies then it's a waste of time as anyone that you ban can come back using a Proxy. BTW I've banned many of the IP's of proxy's. 3DKiwi
KevinMc Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Just installed version 2.0.0 on IPB 3.2.3 and I'm getting this error when the hook is enabled. If the application is enabled, I do not receive any errors; only when the application AND hook are enabled is when I receive the error. Fatal error: Call to a member function includeDMLObject() on a non-object in /home/mysite/public_html/forums/hooks/duplicateMembersLoggerHook_c203494131bc70ec2b7f29167f05dae2.php on line 30 I've tried removing and re-installing the application; no luck.
Kurt De Pauw Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I got this error when installing on 3.3.4 I got a "v" in the hooks section and while installing I get the below error message" alt="" class="ipsImage" width="1000" height="141"> After that is says all is ok after days waithing I get all zero's
Michael Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Kurt, I can't reproduce that issue, it's possible that hook file didn't upload properly when you tried installing this. I just installed this app on an IP.Board 3.3.4 test site and the hook installed fine:" alt="" class="ipsImage" width="1000" height="210">
Kurt De Pauw Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Weird very weird ... I'll ask PrinceOfAbyss, it is just not working for me thow
PrinceOfAbyss Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Reporting a file broken just to draw attention for a problem that you haven't seen others complaining about is a remarkable practice... Well done!!! Anyway, you can PM some admin login info to your board, and I'll take a look.
