Signature and profile

When the signature was removed from the new profile I didn't think to much of it. Infact, I didn't really care because I didn't really see a place to put it in the new system at all. And on the page itself, I really still don't see a place to put it. After thinking about it a little more, I wanted to suggest adding the signature back to the profile, but instead of on the page itself add it as a tab along with the "Topics" and "Replies" tabs. Something like "Signature". I think there may be enough room for it, although I do have a big resolution so I'm not quite sure.

Multi-Moderation Include User Group Change

I get alot of spam on the site when users register and post a thread of spam. I have a multi-moderation tool used to lock and move their thread into the trash-can. I think it would be really cool if we could also set it up to "ban" the user or something, perhaps warn, in multi-moderation.

adding last x post on top of posting screen

Who here thinks it's a good idea to add the last x posts on top of the posting screen as opposed to the bottom? I think it'd help in certain situations where you need to view the previous messages without the need to switch pages, everything in one screen :D. Maybe add a toggle on/off to show at the top? :whistle: PS clickong on an emoticon still highlights the emoticon text >_<

I know this might not be useful for that many people, but it would be neat to have a "forum alias" feature. You can do it with the forum redirect, but it only shows you the number of times a forum has been redirected. What I am suggesting is something like redirect, but from forum->forum that would show the latest post and number of posts of the forum it's linking to. I'm working on converting a component mod of mine from IPB 2.1.x to 2.2.x, and I saw something interesting. I've got some settings that use conf_evalphp to do pre/post processing code to make sure the values entered are correct and I see this message when I go to my settings page: I noticed that now in the sources/components_acp/ folder we have a new folder, called setting_plugins. There is a file in there for working with the Trashcan setting. But we still have the option to create PHP code for new settings, and there is still a conf_evalphp column in our ibf_conf_settings table. Update skin macro system

I find that the macro system is a bit out-dated... The macro's are replaced on-the-fly, and it can be rather un-necessary. My suggestion is save the macro's in a seperate cache file, along with the skin cache. Something like "macros.php". Then when you build the skins replace the macro's with something like: {$this->ipsclass->skin->macros['MY_MACRO_HERE']} The macro's text would be inside the file. Something like: $this->macros['MY_MACRO_HERE'] = "macro text here"; Not only can you eliminate the search and replace here, you can also add the ability to macro's to use variables. skin upload hangs/fails?

When you upload a skin (Yes I know templates have changed) but if you try to upload a skin from say 2.1.7 it hangs and does not upload. but the image file does, Is there anyone else that has this problem or was it some new settings in the skin options?

just a suggestion. if the installer we use on the beta is going to be the new installer system for IPB a button to ether say Goto your admin CP or goto your board would be a big help ^_^

Since banning notes has already been implemented, but only other mods/admins see it, why not do my suggestion of having the ban notes/reason show when the banned member himself tries to access the forum, instead of the default message only? I believe someone on IPS staff said such a thing is being worked on for 3.0, but I just figured with this latest change, it wouldn't be hard to have it also show on the index page to the banned member, would it? I am hoping if not... that a modder could easily do that.

i have a forum which has many sub-forums. and underneath that, it shows the "Forum led by: and the list of mods. now since they look very alike except for the latter being in italics, i'd say its still bit confusing for new users and you can mistakenly click on the moderators instead of the forums. so i say, 1) either have options to turn off "forum led by" and allow HTML in sub-forum titles.

I believe for the old RTE there was an API for modders to use the RTE editor. Something that would be quite handy is when you use the RTE editor, have the ability to hide/show certain buttons/sections in the editor for either the standard editor or RTE editor. Like hide the "Toggle Side Panel" button, hide the smiles drop down, etc...

I see no instructions for anything other than board, but blog and gallery don't seem to be encoded, so I am just assuming we can upload those in automatic, then upload the board in binary. And I will just assume on where to point the browser for blog and gallery, based on logic, but there were no instructions with the downloads for people who don't know where.

My Assistant/Friends

I think Friends should be part of My Assistant or be its own my asssistant type popup (as have been mentioned by quite a few people). Also My Assistant should be collapsible or "pop out" into a new window where it can be minimized when going between pages. That would also mean the friends list would always be with you when you switch pages, but also be a my assistant type of popup, which looks much better. I do not know what is possible with the my assistant type of feature, but if this is possible, it would be highly useful.
