I think he wants the RTE in the quick editor, which it sort of is

The quick edit feature is now a prettier posting box than the old textarea it used to be. This topic is requesting that that posting box remember the poster's preferences as to whether they want to use the standard or RTE editors on the quick edit screen.

Ah yes, I would like the quick reply / edit to have that feature

I'm not going to add the full RTE in the quick edit or fast reply areas mainly because I don't want to load that big JS file with each topic view.

That is because of the fast edit, and the need to place the cursor in the text box.

If you are asking to have the RTE features in quick edit, that is crazy. To big to load.

If you are asking (in full edit) to remember you preference when you click the "switch" button... If it doesnt already, maybe it should :ermm: . But it isnt tht big of a deal anyway. Having the switch option is an improvement in itself anyway.
