root admin as second group

I work for a site that is part of a network. There are network officials and super administrators, both groups we want to have root access. We can only make one of the groups root admin. My suggestion is that we should be able to make someone's secondary group be the root admin with the full effect as if it was its primary group, except for that it is displayed as a different group. So you can have two users, each who have different display groups, but both have root admin access.

With Nexus on hold, and more being focused on IPB 3.0, it's shaping up to be quite a nice release, from what I can tell. Just a quick question though, will licensing options still remain the same once 3.0 is released, or will they change again?

URL filtering should be added to "Word & Ban Filters"

URL filtering seems pretty useful, but you have to dig around for it in the Admin CP. Wouldn't it make a little more sense to put it with the other filtering options like bad words and ban? "Word , Ban, & URL Filters" :)

Ability to delete for regular members with limits

My feature suggestion is to allow other groups the ability to delete, but be able to give them certain limits on the deletion. So, you can set the groups you want with special delete abilities. Perhaps you can restrict this to only certain forums on a board as well. And the various options are: 1) Ability to delete entire topic or your own individual replies in a topic. (No restrictions) 2) Ability to delete topics where no other member has replied (basically allowing people to delete accidental duplicates) 3) Ability to delete topics where no other member has replied AND ability to delete individual replies in a topic 4) Ability to delete only replies in a topic…

I'd really love if we could have per-user overrides for security features in IP.Board 3.0. This would mean we wouldn't have to decrease the security of the whole forum if just 1 or 2 users had issues. Namely the following settings: Stronghold Cookies Enable X_FORWARDED_FOR IP matching Match user's IP Address during session validation

IPB 3 Suggestion - Disable Topic Notifications per user

Hi, Currently on my board i'm getting quite alot of bounced emails on some accounts where "Topic Subscription Notifications" are not being delivered due to problems with the receiving email address of some members e.g. their domain has expired or their inbox is full etc. When you do a member lookup in the admin control panel - you get to edit their propfile etc - can you make it so in IPB 3.0 there is an option that says: "Disable Topic subscription Notifications for this member" - Yes/No. This will save alot of bounced emails coming through and wasting resources. Overhaul Groups

I used phpBB 2.0 before IP.Board and I am quite disappointed with how groups function in IP.Board. It seems they are intended only for granting permissions whereas they should be useful for organisation too. For example, my primary group is "Group X" because I need to be returned in the results of a search for members of "Group X". This means that should someone search for forum administrators, none are found. Further, all of your group memberships should be listed in the topic view and in user profiles. I'm not sure I see the point of having primary and secondary groups anyway. I would prefer the ability to be a member of multiple groups that are treated in exactly the…

Hi I know that there is a delete all posts of mebeer X on ACP However, can you add a function to MOVE instead of delete? Time to time, we found member flood their posts on forum. Due to firendly managemeny type, we prefer to move them to bin for a while instead of deleting them straight or is there any mod to do this (I did search many mod sites and found none) ? thanks Bill

We have a annoying person on our forums posting and registering under the same IP address, so instead of banning them one by one, is there something we can do within the ACP? Wouldn't it be cool if we could use meebo community im within IP.Board? This is an instant messenger & chat tool where users can chat using different chat messengers like msn, gtalk... The advantage is that users could talk on IP.Board without using server resources. It looks like somewhat the facebook chat messenger.

I think allowing forum moderators to be able to remove access from any forum that they are moderators of, so if a member is spaming on a particular forum, then they can be baned from that forum only.

Admin notification of new registration

Not sure if this has been said previously... Currently when the "New registration email validation" setting is set to "User then Admin Validation", an email is sent to the board admin advising of the registration. No issue there. However, the notification email is sent to the admin before the user validates their account. I personally would prefer the notification email to be sent after the user validates - I'm not interested in registrations where the user hasn't validated. Changing the current behaviour may not suit some people, so another option to choose before or after would suffice. Just a suggestion :)

I suggest IPS to add an 'easy to create new page frames' in 3.0, like some mods which allow users to create a new page with the IPB layout. It would be much better if we can see an official one.

IPB3 matching admin and forum skin

I have a question, in the new IPB3 version. Are there plans to create just one default skin, that comes with a matching admin panel (unlike IPB2 now). But this I mean, will the admin panel use the exact same colour scheme as the forum board. Also will it come with just one default skin, or do you have plans to include more than one colour, like in IPB2 now. Where you have the Blue and Black templates installed by default. One last question, will IPB3 be WC3 Strict?

URL referrals & redirect topics

1. Add an option to each forum, if enabled the board will check the referring domains whenever someone enters that forum. If it's not from the list of accepted domains, the user is bumped out to the board index. (For example, to stop people from bookmarking directly into x forum). 2. Add redirect topics, which just act as links like the redirect forums.
