Majdi 2.1
Ipb is missing a free powerful converter. I'm currently using woltlab burning board v3 and would like to convert to ipb v3 once its out. look for example what woltlab offers for its customer:http://www.woltlab.com/products/burning_board/517_en.php
teraßyte
IPB alredy support conversion from the board you mention. Take a look here: http://www.invisionpower.com/community/board/convert.html Don't know if free converters support the latest WBB conversion but i think paid conversion should support it for sure at least :P
Majdi 2.1
but why do we have to pay for a service that every other board script offer it for free??
Trialgan
You can convert it yourself for free, the $60 is only if you want IPS to convert it for you. You can download the converters on the page that Terabyte posted, and follow the PDF instructions.

Mark H.
Then you will have to check with Support to see if they can do it for you. I suspect that they can. (And BTW, not *every* Forum software publisher offers conversion from every *other* competitor's Forum software for free. Given what may be involved in a conversion, $60 is actually a very reasonable price.)
Majdi 2.1
(And BTW, not *every* Forum software publisher offers conversion from every *other* competitor's Forum software for free. at least they offer the most popular ones for free. price wise: license+conversion= 150+60 = $210 that includes 6 months support vbulletin 1 year license + free conversion costs: $180 woltlab burning board: 1 year license + conversion = $140 what i'm trying to say, if ipb team make people pay to import their old databases the total price won't be competitive excuse me for my poor english im french
Mark H.
Your English is perfectly understandable, no need for an apology. My French would most likely make you howl with laughter. (And you wouldn't believe what I've seen English-speaking people try to pass off as English sometimes.) That said, IPS had to make a business decision with respect to the converters they write and provide for free. The numerous versions of vB, phpBB, etc, make it a necessity to write an awful lot of code to make this possible. Woltlab is a good product, agreed, but not one that I'd consider "Mainstream". They would likely get no return on their time investment if they undertook writing a public conversion routine. Also important to keep in mind, is what you're really getting for your money. I personally consider IPB and its modules to be a bargain at the current pricing, even if I had to do a conversion from another package. Yes, the total is higher if you factor in a conversion, but I believe it's worth it. Also, vB charges you that price every year, no? IPB allows you to continue to use it "forever". If you want updates or support, it's only $25 for 6 more months (I think).
Majdi 2.1
how about a "Community Project" a volunteer developer or more can work together to create a super converter and since its a community project -watched by ipb team- members will trust it. I personally don't use 3rd party converters but i wouldn't mind this solution.
