Suggestion for IPB 3

I don't know if this is a planned feature, but I would suggest that a mobile phone optimized skin be included with the final release of IPB 3. A lot of web browsers on phones have evolved to support full websites, but many still don't and the current themes are mostly unusable on some such devices. A good example would be the Palm OS based Treos, even their final web browser handled full sites relatively poorly. Same goes for Pocket IE.

MSSQL Driver for Beta 3?

Doesn't seem to exist. Can only see the driver for Beta 2 in our downloads section and that brings up errors with Beta 3 just trying to install "Fatal error: Declaration of db_driver_mssql::buildSearchStatement() must be compatible with that of interfaceDb::buildSearchStatement() in S:forums3ips_kernelclassDbMssql.php on line 33" Thanks.

Exquisite is the best word to describe IPB 3.0.. I am in complete love with this forum software.. The only issue I have is the cost.. All in all it will cost me around $400 dollars to get my forum set up the way my phpbb3 is. Which unfortunately is a lot for me. I do wonder though, is there ever any specials on the pricing at all for IPB? Or what about a free conversion period from other forum software to ipb? Just curious. And, just once again, as I'm sure you guys just don't get quite enough compliments, Amazing work! ~ Jason

I was doing a bit of testing with the new version of IPB 3 and I noticed that the current skin does not render properly in many older browsers. I understand that the skin is still a work-in-progress, but when it is finalized, what are the lowest browser versions it will be designed to support?

when you go to a forum, and there is a forum description ie the forums rules. that's fine and dandy. But when u click on the topic can IPS set the anchor so that the viewer jumps to the start of the thread, rather than jumping all the way to the top again?

I don't usually care about the actual look of a URL, but I was writing an email to someone and had to paste a link to one of my posts. The link was http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/281758-its-so-beautiful-i-cried/page__view__findpost__p__1787536 Sorry, but the horribleness of that link became apparent as soon as I hit CTRL+V. Wouldn't it be better to do something like http://forums.invisionpower.com/t/281758-its-so-beautiful-i-cried/fp-1787536 Or something similar? At any rate, all of that is easily customizable, including the 'page__view__findpost__p__' part?

Hi, in 3.0 you MUST add captcha to mass moderation/mass moves and/or when a super moderator moves multiple topics. Every thread in my forum was just deleted by a script which was used, and this is the solution to it. How it works: The script posts variables including the user agent pretending to be a moderator, then deletes every thread in every forum. In my case, this was about 12k threads which contained about 59k posts. Sadly, we had no backups. Anyways, this would be a great feature to implement and there should be an option in the acp to enable/disable this. Please take it into consideration, thanks.

Hello, First I want to say that I like IPB a lot! Well done :) But I'm about to purchase a license for my website. That's not a problem. But wat is a problem, is the memory usage of IPB. I dit some testing with IPB3 beta 3 and i came around 5 MB of memory usage. That aint nothing aint it? But will this give any problems if I have about 500 visitors online but just 1 GB of RAM in my server. Can somebody explain a bit more about this whole memory thing? Thanks :)

User subscription management

It would be useful to be able to manage users' forum & post subscriptions. I just posted a comment regarding this to the peer-to-peer support area ( http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=270794 ) and thought I'd float the notion of adding this feature to the ACP. I'd imagine another selectable tool that would appear the in the member drop-down list in the "member management -> search results" for each member. This could provide for deleting/altering users forum & post subscriptions, something not available now. Ian

I did a search for reCATPCHA and nothing came up, but I might've missed it. In 2.3.6, if you enable guest posting and use reCAPTCHA, you get two boxes.. one for normal CAPTCHA asking you to type in a 6 character message (which doesn't appear) and the reCAPTCHA box as normal. If you put anything into the CAPTCHA box, it won't proceed. Can provide a link to this if needed.
