I am signed up but didn't get an email of any kind until 5:19am EST this morning. The sites had been down most of the night...

Am I to understand that this only works with utilizing a video? Can it be worked so as it is a live topic without video?

One more noobish question from me I guess...
Is there the ability to have it post as a thread simultaneously and update as it goes?
 

Thanks Charles. I did read that but wondered if it was customizable at all. 

I am assuming the "chat" is scrollable while it is live(?).

Yes. As the event progresses, it just feels like a live chat room.  (There is the chat side and the “questions” side.)  People can come and go as they want. 

Once it’s done, it automatically makes the forum topic and converts all the chat messages into replies in that topic. 

I believe it shows up only in forums where the solved is enabled.

The topic that is generated happens once the Live Topic event is over. Once you end the Live Topic, the generated topic is posted within a few seconds.

Yes, a video is not required. You can also just do text based Q&A.

Yes, then we'll remove it and put it back, then remove it again then put it back. It's now a tradition.

We expect this limitation to be removed in our April release.
We have merged two different concepts into one. We previously had "Publish Date" in pages, but "Future Publish Date" everywhere else.
Merging them did cause some issues which we've been resolving. The final one was when you have Pages records (any publish date) synchronised with a forum (only future publish date).

I don't understand why this feature would be removed. It has been there for what seems like forever and is integral to what we do. 

I have not updated for a few releases and am glad I haven't with this knowledge now under our belt. If this feature doesn't return, not sure what we can/will do, but upgrading is very possibly out of the question now.

When you promote an article you get to pick an image, great. However, that image gets resized into that narrow band. Imagine it’s a headshot, the image in picks on the homepage ends up being focused on nose and mouth. I have lots of noses and lips on my picks widget; I would prefer to have eyes. In short, it would be important to have the ability to reposition the image (or change the ratio, though I prefer the repositioning option)

It would be great if a future update allowed for the syncing of Reactions made between a Topic in the forums and a linked CMS/Page Record.
At the moment, when you link a Topic and CMS record together (either by making a CMS record and having a topic created, or by using "Copy to Database" on an existing forum topic), almost everything else is sync'd up. Tags, comments/replies... even the Reactions made towards those comments/replies! But for some reason, Reactions on the Topic's original post and the CMS Record remain completely separate. It's inconsistent.
Changing this would go a long way to help integrate CMS and Topics - a lot of users on my community tend to React to posts more than they do comment, and I want to make sure those Reactions are reflected in all linked content,
I raised this as more of a bug concern around a year ago, but was told it was actually expected behaviour. So I figure I'd make a suggestion about this, it'd be a small but great improvement!
