so i need to find a site where the collabs work and are also fully integrated into the rest of the site somehow.

Times moved on with this app so Im hoping that all the little bugs etc have been ironed out by now.   I do have a plan to use the app now whereas early days even thought I though it a great idea I couldnt think how my site might benefit from different groups.

Is this an addition to the gallery here on IPS?  I mean as I cant upload and view videos from my iphone into the gallery SO is this a seperate system where members can actually upload and view videso from Iphone?

I'm not sure I fully support that idea.

To me that sounds counter intuitive as to me the gallery is a showcase, it's a place that you upload your images to view sort of like going to a gallery to view an artists work. The forum images are normally meant for conversation or discussion and not meant to be "showcased".

If both were being streamed together it wouldn't make sense to me as it's not the purpose of the two apps. I would certainly love to have the "Insert media from Gallery" feature back and improved upon to include all other apps (insert media from downloads etc) which doesn't do that silly block that you get when you insert links from other parts of the site. I'd prefer that the block be designed more "pretty" and have like the teaser paragraph from articles or a truncated part of the content field and the like.

For me, it doesn't seem like this would be helpful. It would also get messy as I have a forum that currently has a gif war going on.

I did that and there is a little bit of code already there.... is this ok?

and just to add one more thing ( assuming the above is correct) it wont let me edit the email message ( it is just coloured in blue) and I cannot see  the original message or add any html etc

I set a rule to send out an email when a member is inactive for a set time.  The email was delivered and it was very nice but someone pointed out that I should by law always have a way for people to unsubscribe from any emails.   Is anything can be done about this please?

I just tried it... "Welcome back to returning member"........had to be quick to copy the message though ( after 4 tries finally caught it ha ha ) In the debug it said it worked with conditions met  and there was a drop down message but it only had a long number in instead of saying welcome back ( name)     daf0b221ed3d59a5cb47230d04d6a8d8

I think I must have done something wrong maybe. I have a rule set to add an inline message "welcome back ( name)" to a member on return logging in.  However it doesnt do the message.

I have it set to debug to see what might be happening but that says Rule evaluated ...Conditions met... so I presume that means that it created the inline message ok. So any ideas why member cannot see the message?

Do you think rules can help with this.  If someone reports a post/image (or whatever) I would like that post to be hidden immediately until mods or admin can check it out. If so how can this be done?

I'm so sorry but I think maybe group collaborations isn't for me.  The more I look at it with the group owners running a forum within my main forum and I have very little control over that doesnt really suit my needs.   I wanted the businesses that join us to have place where people can add reviews for them but maybe there is another option with something else. Perhaps I can just use my site forums for same results and I've the control over them at the end of the day. As with most things its possible that business start a collab ( group) and never bother to come back and work the thing. So if they go AWOL then Im stuck with being unable to sort it out which doenst appeal to me at all.

I do think there must be some good use for collaborations ...  I'm not really sure what others success is.

I Just thought for  while there it would be good for my site and I've no doubt many will find very good use for it but for me it sort of feels like facebook pages where people LIKE for the sake of it.  And then what can the group owners do?   As you can see I am confused to group collabs use for me. And I really do apologize for that.

Right. I went ACP-collaboration-categories-then click on a category....   then where is this desired apps tab??  I can't see this anywhere

( I doubt I should be looking for a desired apps tab so maybe we have a language challenge going on here OR Im just a total dummy)

oh god I just bought the pages but I wish I hadn't now.  I saw it used on a site and it looked fab but seeing this little lot it sounds awful.

Just have to cut my losses I guess as I'm not going to spend hours of my time trying to work all this out.
