  1. Well, in that case I'm shipping the Mac version of my software in MSI files (you see what I did there?) Hah!
  2. I'd suggest if you really wanted one, send a ticket to sales - at the very least it'll register your interest, and at the very best they might wrangle something for you. Bear in mind that the community suite promotion currently running is because they're discontinuing that suite in favour of just sliding scale your pricing based on your total spend, which is great for those of us using non-suite components (for example, I pay for IP.Content, IP.Blog, and IP.Downloads; I don't pay for IP.Board or IP.Gallery - only one of my purchases is a suite component)
  3. Official community mods is right here on this forum: http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=ccs You will be able to browse mods, but not download. You might also not have access to read articles (but can get an idea from the titles)
  4. When you say active license holder, do you mean active license holder with service enhancement package?
  5. It's not attached to the forums here though is it? I didn't realise you could plug multiple installations of IP.Content into one IP.Board framework...
  6. It has to be said too... it's Vodafone, not Vodaphone... As a briton, you should know better ;)
  7. Well, the spam service key is useless to you if your support is inactive, just as saving your FTP info is. The license key is completely worthless whether your support is active or not, and if you want to change your site URL, you can file a ticket with sales. So really, there's no info there you need if you aren't up to date on your support.
  8. Hell, I've got it running in a completely separate subdomain!
  9. Ahem, what's MSSQL 2003? You either mean MSSQL 2000 or MSSQL 2005...
  10. What he means is that these are the restrictions: So, yes but there are so little restrictions there may as well be none.
  11. You forgot to mention System Requirements. vBulletin if you recall runs only on PHP/MySQL, it's worth letting people know they've got more options including PHP/MSSQL and whether Windows/IIS is supported, etc.
  12. I've actually got a IPB (IDB?) 1.0.5 download and a 1.2 download around here. You'd only install it for nostalgia of course.
  13. Integrating pages is beyond simple. IPB can virtually be included into your website as just another component thanks to the OO design (i.e. just include the files, call IPSMember::create() and you've just registered a user in IPB). And you can do the opposite and include your website in your forum via IP.Content (sold seperately - but sure as shoot not for $200 seperately).
  14. Huzzah! Just make the following change to php.ini: arg_separator.output = "&" If you don't want to support ugly cookieless session URLs at all, make this change: session.use_trans_sid = 0 And there you have it. Thanks to the W3C for the explanation and fix above.
  15. I believe that's a PHP function actually, called "cookieless sessions". And if it is, you're pretty much out of luck, because PHP adds the fraking things automatically, and PHP doesn't give a hoot about standards compliance.
  16. You don't modify core files to enable Sphinx. You just install it, and tell IPB to use "Sphinx" as the search method. See this article in the resources.
  17. They can't do that, since this board is their test board. If they can't count on this forum matching the baseline, then they can't adequately determine what works for the customers. And installing Sphinx isn't an option, since not all customers have that option available to them.
  18. I believe the reasoning they used previously was that they have to use the configuration that the majority of their customers will use on this forum. The baseline, if you will. Installing Sphinx is not an option, as that would not be baseline (and requiring Sphinx is not something they can do).
  19. Any reason why you guys didn't mention the MSSQL driver update in the announcement? If I hadn't decided to look at the file info (which takes manually typing in the URL since you guys remove the file info link) I wouldn't have known there was an update.
  20. Not in the feedback forum there isn't ;) Try the IPB Peer to Peer forum.
  21. Don't assume that just because someone posted in peer-to-peer that they actually have a license. IPS has taken to moving posts rather than locking when a tech support question is asked.
  22. Yoyu also mentioned that your friend has not got an active support license - if this is the case, your friend is not licensed to install IPBoard 3.0.4 unless they downloaded it from IPS (in which case they'd have all the files they need to upgrade). Getting the files from somewhere else would violate the license whether your friend purchased IPB or not.
  23. I think it'd be good if we could receive email notification if our boards die (SQL error, mainly) - it took me a day to notice that the "Recent Status Updates" hook had crashed my board because I had no reason to log in!
  24. You could do this though, using the "custom PHP file to execute" function of the BBCode manager. I doubt you'll ever see it in the base product though.
