  1. I really hope that this hasn't been discontinued. This has been working great on my site since getting everything setup correctly.

I had something come up recently... Would this plugin possibly cause duplicates to show in the "Who downloaded this?" I'm seeing where it shows members duplicated on that list. Some members are showing on that list 4-8 times. I've been asked by support to disable everything in regards to downloads, but I can't disable this mod since all my downloads are through my Wasabi.

  2. I seem to be experiening an issue where the users listed in the "Who downloaded this?" are being counted several times.  Almost every download is being logged multiple times; sometimes the same user is listed 9-10 times.

This particular file shows over 2400+ downloads since Friday.  I do not see that being a true count for this particular file. Any idea what could be causing the "Who downloaded this?" to be shoing duplicated user downloads?  Is there anyway to re-count and remove/cleanup the download counts?

Is there a specific URL which you have bookmarked or are using when this happens? Unfortunately, when logging in with the credentials provide on both the front-end and ACP, I am not encountering this error.

No, it's not with a bookmark.

I'm able to duplicate this each and every time.  Even tested from a friends computer that I've never used before.  I go to vpuniverse.com, log-in, it takes to /forums. Go back to vpuniverse.com, not using back button but going to main domain directly. It shows user not logged in. Log-in, get CSRF response. It doesn't matter if it's my account or my test user account that's setup for you.

Could I ask, are you able to repicate this yourself on the front end? I cannot login as unfortunately the access details on file are incorrect

    Login details have been updated.

Yes, I am able to duplicate the front end issue on a regular basis.  Login to the main domain using /forums.  Then go back to the main URL, you'll see that you are not signed in (you really are though if you go to /forums), click sign-in.  You should get the CSRF response.

I would suggest trying this first with an unmodified theme as even the smallest changes to a template can cause the upgrader to not upgrade that template and it could be missing code changes from version to version. Each upgrade a theme needs to be double checked for compatibility issues, I'm afraid.

I would recommend also checking and removing any custom .htaccess entries you have any leaving just the ones that come with our software in case something is causing an issue there.

    Jim,

I've done everything suggested and still getting this error. I've used unmodified theme, disabled all 3rd party apps, etc. If i go to my site  mysite.com/forums I am able to log in and navigate the site just fine.  If I go to mysite.com it shows me as logged out. If I click to login from mysite.com it gives the CSRF error. I am not using any custom .htaccess files other than the one that come with IPS.

It appears that I am not able to change the default app either. My default app is currently pages with articles page. I was thinking that going to mysite.com should use the default app. I tried changing the default app to forums, but it still shows the old pages/articles page.  I deleted the page so now anyone going to to my main url are getting "The page you requested does not exist".

I don't know if these are different problems or if they are part of the same. I'm not sure what else to check or do.

  6. I'm trying to figure out an issue on my site. Support always says to disable 3rd party plugins when troubleshooting to determine if it's a 3rd party causing it or IPS. So, I disabled all plugins and immediately the site went down. Checking the logs show 300k+ hits in a very short time causing 503 site errors. Contacted my host; they ae monitoring it and says that the traffic is from IPS.

Is it normal that this would happen when disabling all 3rd party plugins?

That is per user in ACP. Search for the user to go to their member view and then see what only they downloaded. Now if you are looking for a file and then to see what users have downloaded that file, then check out @Adriano Faria solution, its more robust. You can also check out the ACP reporting for top downloads and such.

Ok, it looks like only the table view from the Downloads tab that shows what that user downloaded.  I guess that will work my use.  Just a bit difficult to find.

    then view as a table

Yeah, I'm familiar with that, but that list moves fast. I have over 250,000 downloads that gets quite a bit cluttered.  I know I can export as a CSV and sort it via username, but it shouldn't be that difficult to just get a list of the downloaded files per user.

I think @Adriano Faria solution may be the best.

This is under "customer actions".  Do you have commerce installed (I see you have a license) and are you sure the user has actually downloaded anything?

Yes, commerce is installed, but I don't charge for downloads. Subscription/usergroup based. This specific user has downloaded over 750 files. I know I can go to each individual file and see who downloaded it, but that's time consuming when looking for a specific user.

    A suggestion:

    • File:
      • All members who downloaded a file
    • Member:
      • All files a member has uploaded
      • All files a member has downloaded

@Adriano Faria Thanks. I'll check it out.  Just seems like this should be basic functionality of IPS downloads app.

You can do this from the admin CP. Open the users profile in the admin CP, then on the right, you can change "All Recent Account Activity" to "Files Downloaded"

I do not seem to have that option.  I do have download logging on and have for a long while. Running v4.6.8.

There are blocks which display the top download files by number of downloads and reviews but not reactions. Is there a reason reviews is not used for this purpose?

More people seem to like than review.  I have files that have hundreds of likes, but only a hand full of reviews.  File has 4 reviews, but 106 likes.  Not many people take the time to review.  Wanting to do a top 10 list based on likes as that seems like it would have a much bigger sample size.
