  1. Sure. Development platform is https://headstand.glrf.info/ If you search for the San Diego Crew Classic in the general search bar, the results will yield a number of items. One of them is the event taking place from 01 Apr 2016 to 03 Apr 2016. Here is the event: https://headstand.glrf.info/event/160-glrf-at-the-2016-san-diego-crew-classic/ Now, if you go to the main events page and enter a wider search, say from 3/01/2016 to 4/15/2016, there are no results. I'm wondering if the 4.7 platform needed to have the dd mm yyyy format in place before the events were upgraded?
  2. Uploaded is probably a misnomer. Just the standard upgrade since the events are part of the standard IPS platform.
  3. Still working on the upgrade to 4.7. All of the old events from the 3.x installation have been uploaded. The date format for the old events was dd mm yyyy. The setting in the 4.7 acp is set the same. But ... go to the front end, on the events page, and use the 'Search Events' form yields no results for any period between 2009 and 2022. The front end does have the date format set as mm/dd/yyyy. 1. Is there a way to change that date format setting for the front end for the search form? 2. Would the default mm/dd/yyyy be the cause of the no search results? If I search using the search field for a keyword for one of the events, it shows right up. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the comment. Do you think this is a bug?
  5. I'm testing the delete member and leave content option for a topic reply. Attached is the screen capture showing my choices. My assumption is that the member, JoeJonasBF, would be assigned to the group 'Guest' but the member display name would remain. Not so. Here is the screen capture after the member was deleted. Shouldn't the display name continue to show as JoeJonasBF?
  6. I've read some previous posts about offering the option of member selected delete. From what I gathered, this is not a good option because of the loss of member-posted content. I think one of the Invision Community team said that the current system is to shift them to guest? Or does the account actions drop down selection, delete, actually delete the member altogether? My idea is to offer a member option to delete their profile which would simply move them to a new group but not a guest. Instead, I would call it Deactivated. All the content would remain but in the topic member summary below their icon, which would also change to a generic icon, the status badge or group name would read Deactivated. Has anyone tried something like that? What about Invision Community? What is the current status of deleting members?
  7. Thanks so much for the monosnap lead. I just downloaded it and created a test video tutorial. The .mp4 file format instantly came alive after dragging the video file into the post.
  8. Okay, so does that mean Jim M's post is now out of date, meaning that only You Tube and Vimeo are the only embeddable? ->
  9. thanks for the leads @Ryan Ashbrook and @Ramsesx and @Nathan Explosion maybe I should have asked an amplifying question: how do you embed a video in a topic? and perhaps another question as well, while I am typing this - will the video file only embed if the max total file size is 48.83 mb, as shown here?
  10. We're hoping to feature several how-to videos for our upgraded platform. Can anyone recommend a good screen capture video service? We tried Free Cam which only creates .wmv files. In a test post, we dragged the 100mb file to the post and then submitted the topic. The video shows as a link that needs to be downloaded. We would like to embed the video in a forum post so people can watch right there, and perhaps read the description. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
  11. Please consider adding places or hooks or slots ... obviously I am not a developer ... so that we community admistrators can add a circle with a question mark or circle with an "i" inside that is universally regarded as a click point to elaborate on a field or function. Having these 'info circles' would be a big help for people who are not familiar with things like quoting a topic, uploading an image, adding information for a special application. It seems like coding this feature universally around the Invision Community platform would make it easy for an administrator to simply add an info circle with a text explanation for many acp features while inside the acp. What I'm trying to explain is make this feature part of the acp so there is no special coding. This would involve Ehren coding this to appear on the theme, obviously, and to make it work on a mobile, it seems like the click-on-infocircle behavior would require a right slide out screen. Not sure if that is possible.
  12. Not sure if this is flaw in 4.7.12 I want to disable the default sign in with Facebook and sign in with Twitter. Went to the ACP. Clicked on Login & Registration under Settings. I clicked edit for Facebook. I disabled front-end login under Basic Settings and hit save. The sign in button disappeared although the summary of methods page still shows Facebook with the green 'enabled' button displayed. Not sure if it should show disabled. Then I tried the same thing clicking edit with Twitter. Again, I disabled front-end login under Basic Settings and hit save. The 'success' page, if you will, shows Twitter with front end login disabled. However, the sign in button remains on the front end. I hit refresh multiple times. No joy. Went back to the ACP and clicked on Login & Registration under Settings. Clicked on edit for Twitter and lo and behold, it now shows front-end login is enabled. Over and over I tried this and the same result happened each time with the front-end login renewing as enabled.
  13. I have three staff directory sections: super admins, moderators, and then another for our countries. The system only lets me display a member in one section. Is there a way to list a member in more than one section? I would like to list one person in several different sections. Thank you.
  14. Got it. I was also a moderator but I had to change the restricted moderator settings on my profile. Thank you for the clarification and education!
  15. @Adriano FariaI'm a superadmin and I can't see where I can move an image from one category to another.
  16. Using 4.7 trial, I tried adding some products to commerce, adding two colors for one shirt, and also five sizes. I then added different stock levels depending with the custom field values. For the maroon shirt, there was no shirts available in large. For the purple shirt, there were five shirts available in x-small, and so on. After saving, I inspected the front end, and this was the display: Other community members explained that the zero in stock display was a result of that particular shirt size and color having no inventory. So even though I have 20 shirts in both colors, in various sizes, the page displays that there are no items in stock. The way this is currently configured, it is not at all intuitive to a casual visitor. It would be much more preferable to show the total in stock. If a visitor lands on the page, and the default size happens to be out for that color, it sends a message that there are no items in stock. My suggestion would be to add an additional setting in the ACP Commerce Stock & Price Adjustments tab to display as configured right now, and to display with the total amount in stock.
  17. Thank you very much. I changed the size selection and suddenly there is a quantity. In case IPS folks happen to read this, I just want to comment that the way this is currently configured, it is not at all intuitive to a casual visitor. It would be much more preferable to show the total in stock. If a visitor lands on the page, and the default size happens to be out for that color, it sends a message that there are no items in stock.
  18. Reaching out to others with the commerce application. I'm exploring commerce in the 4.7 trial. I have set up a product, a shirt, and added two colors and 5 associated sizes. I added the stock numbers for each size and color. On purpose, I had some sizes as zero but other sizes and colors do have some stock numbers. My question: why does it show "0 in stock" under the product label and price when in fact the system allows me to select an instock size and price and go all the way to checkout?
  19. Is there an industry standard that IPS uses for regular expression on profile fields? I'm trying to create a rowing split time field. I selected text area for the field type and I tried using this expression for the Regular Expression: ^(([0]?[0-5][0-9]|[0-9]):([0-5][0-9]))$ that should display something like 1:39 ... if you are a really good indoor rower .... The expression I used was rejected. I don't know if it is because there is a colon in the expression or what. I got the code from Regular Expression Library (regexlib.com)
  20. I do see the similar content sidebar right here, in this topic but what about other content on the platform? For images, for blogs, for events, for news? Where can I read about Elastic search? How do you enable it? Are there settings in the ACP?
  21. Not sure if there is anything in the Marketplace that does this or if this idea has been discussed before. Amazon is one but there are other shopping-related websites that do this, and of course, Netflix does this: based on your interest in xxxx, you might be interested in yyyy. Sure there are applications for the IPS ecommerce platform but I am talking more about community building tools. Perhaps using tags that help to categorize clubs and images and tags, when someone visits a topic with a certain tag, there would be a suggestion bar offering other community content, blogs, images, posts, clubs, that have those tags. I'm not a coder so the only thing I can think of is tags but hopefully you developers or geniuses grasp my suggestion. A clear example to me is the Cheersandgears site. I could easily see someone who visits or posts in a topic about Camaros might be interested in posts or events or blogs about muscle cars. This feature helps to build stickiness, keeping a website visitor on the platform, exploring other things and helping people discover clubs they might be interested in or blogs, or albums or members who add content that is of interest to the website visitor.
  22. okay, it still is strange that the mm/dd/yyyy does not appear. That seems like a coding feature. Here are the screen shots from my Samsung Z Flip 3. In the vertical position, you see first this and then when you touch, you get the month calendar display. If I twist the display to the horizontal position, then you see this and then when you touch, you get this more user friendly display. So I totally get what you are saying about the OS but I stand firm that there is a coding error for the default display of mm/dd/yyyy in the empty field. That doesn't seem OS/browser related. You guys create a field button and put instructions on what should display by default and then code it for the date picker. Whomever coded this for mobile application omitted the mm/dd/yyyy
  23. Our community requires a minimum age of 13 to be compliant with COPPA rules. The settings in the ACP for minimum age and enabling and disabling COPPA are puzzling. It would appear that if you enable the COPPA setting without setting a minimum age, then the printed consent form button appears. But if you enable COPPA and set a minimum age to 13, then the consent form does not work. Is this the expected behavior?
  24. @Marc Stridgen For the phone registration, it would be easier if the mm/dd/yyyy showed and could be typed in directly so that is a suggestion. Also, in terms of UX, the position of the year in the upper left corner did not immediately make it apparent. I would suggest coding the year a slightly different color and centering it in the box so that it is more apparent.
  25. I just tried entering my birthdate on our development server using my phone. Most of my community will use his/her/their phone to register. We have to enable COPPA. By doing that, the birthdate registration form is unusable. Why? Because the only way to input your birthdate is to click left arrow and go back one month at a time. If you were born in 1993, do you really think you will have the patience to click 344 times? To the developers, please investigate and treat this as a bug. Solution 1: dials like Rachio for years, months, and day. That's one idea. Solution 2: the banks let you click on a year and select a year first, then month Solution 3: just enable type in of month/day/year and please ... allow for non US folk, day/month/year entry! Thanks!
