Just did. using Edge, cleared cache - everything. closed browser opened browser opened new tab entered invisioncommunity.com need to login - fill in login fields next screen says invalid account - see attached printscreen but notice that it shows Brian Toddas logged in move cursor on the "invalid screen" to the top, over community - it turns green - see attached printscreen click on community, and I'm at the forum, viewing topics.
  2. Yes, on the Invision Community site. This happens when I log in to the Invision Community site after my cache has been cleared. At first glance, it seems like I need to find out why my account is invalid but actually, if you just click on the Community tab in the header, I discover that yes, I am logged in after all and the 'invalid account' warning is "invald" itself! 🤨

  4. I copied one of the banned emails in the acp and tried to register using that email and just as @Marc described, the registration could not go forward. Attached are three attachments. The first is the banned list from the acp with the banned email circled. The second is a printscreen of the Mandrill outbound transaction email. I have circled the banned email which was banned several weeks ago. The pencil drawing with the down arrow means I am clicking on the view content. The third attachment is the email that was open when clicked in the Mandrill acp, shows the code of the link embedded in the verify email button. Is there any way to trace that code back to some transaction that could explain the source of this validation email? Thanks, Brian
  5. Since V5 was loaded on here, and I have cleared all my cache on Edge, I have encountered a message after I login using my regular credentials that reads, in part, Invalid Account. If I just click on community in the header, I go right into the logged in main forum. Seems like a bug.
  6. We're on 4.7.20. We have an extensive ban list of emails and names. Since we upgraded from 3.3.4 on 22 Oct 2024, we have had all of one or two spam registrations. With that said, we continue to see validation emails being sent through our transactional email system, Mandrill. Is there any way to trace the source of those validation emails? I can see them going out, and delivered, and thankfully, no registrations. I just wonder what is generating those emails? Is this just the ban setting application doing its job? I would think if there is an email was listed in the banned settings, the form would catch it before it is submitted? Or is this a minor bug, where the ban settings catch the banned email but the validation is sent anyway? Or am I missing the flow process, meaning the email validation is sent and once it is received, and someone tries to click it, the message is delivered that the email is invalid or something? We also have a pledge form that people can sign. It sends a confirmation email to the signee's email, indicating that they had signed the pledge, and if someone else (English School Boy Humour) had signed in their place, please click 'here' to cancel the pledge signature. Could these pledge confirmation emails be triggering the registration validation emails at the same time? Thanks, Brian
  7. I recently migrated from VPS at Go Daddy to VPS at Liquid Web. After overcoming some general email issues, probably how the MX was pointing, I found that all of the transactional emails through Manbdrill had stopped. In the Go Daddy version, it was very straight forward. In the ACP, under Email Settings and Advanced Settings, I had SMTP selected and then all the fields filled in with the host, protocol, port, and username/password. All worked great. After the migration, it all stopped. Liquid Web support was not super helpful so I used a freelancer who has helped me with Exchange email setup. His decision: revert the settings to PHP in the ACP and do the configuration from the Plesk side to send the transactional emails using remote SMTP. What do you think about that?
  8. I started testing the V5 site on my Android phone last night and I looked at the Provider Directory section. I clicked on a category, and a listing changed but the display of all the categories, in the wide selection of colors did not change. I thought that was strange because I couldn’t tell if I had been filtered or not. Then I checked the desktop version just now and found that the categories grey out once you select a category. That’s good. The mobile version should do the same but it doesn’t.
  9. I started testing this site to see how V5 appears and one of my areas of attention are the navigation header and breadcrumbs. I clicked on all the Header navigation sections, Forum, Blogs, All Activity, My Activity Streams, and then through all the items in More. When you click on Blogs, there is no breadcrumb, i.e. Home → Blogs When you click on Providers Directory, there is no header navigation whatsoever. There is a breadcrumb.
  10. Just a reminder - this issue is still outstanding. I'm on 4.7.19 and I just added the upcoming event block to the event application, and I had a look in one of our groups (clubs to you), and it shows as 'no upcoming events found' even though the block visibility setting is set to everywhere except groups. I believe terabyte will verify

    I just experienced this on my Chrome browser. I have 8 tabs currently "open" or at least showing on my browser. In the tab that I was currently using, I received several notifications. I didn't notice them at first. When I clicked on another tab, I saw the first tab had this, in the tab: (4) Virtual Estonia. My feedback is to add this feature for V4 and/or V5. Once I had seen the notifications, the tab changed to: Virtual Estonia. I am sure there is a technical term to describe what I am recommending. I realize IPS have several notifications in the header: the bell, the envelope, and the triangle. Perhaps you can't combine those for the browser tab but it would be a great idea to see I have new activity in an open tab while I am working in a different tab.

    After upgrading to 4.7.19, I finally clicked on this new acp feature. I would recommend that you add an additional item - tags. I don't know if the software has the capability to sense an open tagging system in 4.7 but if it could, then here is my suggestion: Something like that since the whole tagging thing seems to be rather fluid at the moment. At least provide a notification of the V5 tag limitation or the closed structure. I'm not recomending that you write a big piece on the advatanges of the new feature. It just seems like such a radical change in the upgrade, it merits a segment in the prepare for V5
  13. Current installation: 4.7.18 Attached is a printscreen from the ACP Statistics/Activity/Overview. As you can see, for every page application, if that is what you call them, the comment count is identical. I mentioned this to @Terabyte and he thought it may be an IPS bug.
  14. Our site has just been upgraded to 4.7. We use the Status Updates a lot so when the time comes to look at V5, we will be reaching out to a 3rd party developer to create an application to mimic the existing Status Updates. That's just my input.
  15. I have enabled referrals in my acp. I have placed the Tell A Friend sidebar block on various pages. My goal is to give any member who refers 5 or more people a free t-shirt. When I say refers, I mean those referred folks register as a member. Our base membership as well as our upgraded membership are products in commerce. Looking at the commission rules for referrals in the acp, I'm not sure if the rules would work because they specify that a single customer has purchased a certain number or value of products. What I'm looking for is to create an award for a single product after X number of referrals have "purchased" (free) the base membership product. Any ideas? Or should I just look in the acp statistics section and check the top referrer stats every week?

I am trying to reach out to the Invision Community that uses an Android phone and has encountered this issue, and find out if there is a work around or a setting to enable to upload images from say the phone gallery. I realize most of the Invision Community staff uses an iPhone, except Esther, but perhaps others, those of us who are the 'outliers,' and use an Android phone, might be able to share what they do.

  18. I tried to upload an image I had taken at a rowing event to the event's album using my Samsung Z Flip 5 phone. I was restricted to three sources: Camera | Camcorder | Voice Recorder See attached. I found one topic about uploading images one by one from an iPhone but no chat about an android. Have others had any success or know the tricks to making this work? Second question: has anyone succeeded in uploading multiple images from their phones to an album, perhaps using an external integration? Or are IPS users stuck with uploaded one image at a time, and .... only from an iPhone?!
  19. What processes are running that activate links from 3.3.4? I don't get it. The reporting that is showing up in Daniel's application shows someone trying to access a particular forum, or a particular social group, or a particular event. What does that have to do with all the processes in the software? Is this all just bots sending open links signals for thousands of pages on my old site? Again, how can they (whomever or whatever) be activating links in my 4.7 site when it is offline?
  20. The upgrade of our site from 3.3.4 to 4.7.18 is basically done except for some individual application tweaks and one registration/profile completion issue. By our choice, we have taken the site offline while this issues are resolved. So why is it that I keep getting 404 error reports with Daniel's 404 management application ? This isn't an issue with Daniel's application. It's just weird how, if the site is offline, something is crawling through the files or clicking on the links. How can that be?
  21. I am refining the sections in the Terms & Privacy Policy. In my searches for information, I came across Matt's blog post from 2017: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/invision-community/how-invision-communitys-tools-can-help-with-gdpr-compliance-r1052/ The links in there to the EU policy were very revealing and since our organization is US-based but global in reach, we need to really explain every aspect of what is private and what isn't on our site. If there is one takeaway from Matt's post and the EU policy, it is the need for transparency. I have created a policy that I think is extremely transparent about the user data collected during registration as well as the additional profile completion fields. What is missing is an explanation of what information is tracked by the logs in the acp. I need to disclose what separate items I can see in the logs about an individual user. Could someone refine this list or amend it? Obviously I don't have a good grasp on what logs are available and what information can be gleaned from the logs. Number of messages sent (received?) are tracked? [is this a log thing? Can I put my fingers on how many messages a user sent in a given timeframe?] Number of times a user has logged in and out? What device a user has used to access the platform? All the content a user has created in a given timeframe or what? images? posts? comments? articles? events? pages application data? What have I missed by being so unaware of the logs resource? Thank you for any inputs or thoughts.

    @Jim M Okay, I'm getting closer. Referring to this post There is this part: To what does that refer? Does it mean the section in the ACP that says System > Site Promotion > Sharing and having one or more of those social media links enabled?
